The host was lovely and very generous.  The house has great character,  really enjoyed our stay

We really enjoyed our stay in the Cyr Suite.  It's quite spacious with the convenience of a kitchen.  The furnishings are a little dated but everything worked well.  You can't beat the location!  Highly recommend.

Bernie is an amazing host. We had the lower suite. It was clean, very spacious and very comfortable. Bernie was great to deal with and we would stay here again.

Such a quaint please. It felt very private and relaxing.

Unique historical house with very friendly owners.

Cyr Suite has lots of space to cook at home, work at the desk, or relax on the couches. I love the cozy old-style furniture and you have restaurants, Wykes Independent Grocer, trails, shopping, and museums nearby.

Bernie was a great host, always available if I had questions or wanted to chat! I was the only one there and had fun exploring the whole house by myself. Parking, cable TV, WiFi, and free souvenirs were also nice bonuses!

Thanks to Bernie and Pam for the opportunity to stay in their charming summer overflow house right in the heart of downtown. The place is spacious and well-appointed and has different vibrant wall colours in every room! Amazing value, ideal location, kind hosts. Be aware that the walls are thin so you might want to bring earplugs if you are very sensitive to noise.

We loved our stay in the Cyr Suite at the Historical Guest House. The suite was clean and spacious and we enjoyed having a full kitchen to make meals. Bernie is a friendly host and we were able to walk everywhere we wanted in downtown Whitehorse. Highly recommend!

Bernie kindly greeted us very late at night after a long day of airline delays. The suite was everything we needed for a few days in Whitehorse and was within walking distance of downtown. There's a beautiful garden in the back and two friendly dogs, although they nearly gave me a heart attack when we arrived so late at night ha ha. It was a great stay at the Historical Guest House.

Great place, especially for a larger group. We were comfortable and cozy. Homeowner was very personable and helpful.

Comfortable & convenient winter stay

We really enjoyed our stay at this property! It was perfect for our family of four who spent a few days exploring Whitehorse. The suite had everything we needed and was close to downtown. It's not a fancy place (which suited us just fine!) but the property and suite are well maintained and the owner, Bernie, was incredibly helpful and nice. I would definitely recommend!

We were moving from Marsh Lake to Whitehorse and needed a place to stay for a couple of days.  This B&B was perfect.  The accommodation was homey, much better than a hotel room.  The grounds were colourful with a myriad of flowers surrounding a covered sitting area.  Bernie (Pam was away camping.) was the most gracious host, even offering some of his home-made raspberry crisp.  The sleeping arrangement might mean you would have to share the common area but we were fortunate and had the entire house to ourselves.

This place is heavenly.  Stay here unless you need absolute privacy..

A bit of colourful tranquility right in the middle of town

This was our 4th trip to Whitehorse and our first time at the Historical Guest House. The owner, Bernie, is very friendly and accommodating. The location can't be beat and is walking distance from most attractions and great restaurants. We stayed in the Cyr Suite, which sleeps quite a few and has a private kitchen and bathroom. This is our new favourite place to stay in Whitehorse.

Winter Stay

I made a reservation because of its location in downtown Whitehorse. Except for the bathrooms, the house and its furnishings are largely old and a bit shabby. The stove and refrigerator, for example, look like they're from the 1980s. Nevertheless, the house is very homey, clean, and comfortable. The host was very nice, allowing my daughter and her boyfriend to park their rental RV in the house's space overnight. The host made a fire in the parlor stove in the evening, which took the chill off the house and undoubtedly saved on heating fuel costs. Be advised that the bathrooms are on the ground floor, and people staying in one of the upper rooms have to go downstairs through the parlor and kitchen to use the facilities.

110年前に建てられた歴史を感じる家も素敵でしたが、何よりホストのバーニーさんの暖かい人柄が素晴らしかったです。夕食の後、庭でくつろぎながらバーニーさんと話す時間がとても心地よく、今回の旅行に色を添えてくれました。
部屋も、古き良き部分はそのままきれいに保たれていていますが、水回りの設備はしっかりしていて、古さを感じさせません。元大工のバーニーさんの手入れが行き届いているのだと思います。バスルームが二つあって便利でした。キッチンもいつも清潔でした。朝食は、キッチンに用意されているシリアルやパン（コーヒー・紅茶・牛乳・ジュースもあります）を自由に頂けるので、朝早く出かけるときも気を使う必要がなくて良かったです。次回ホワイトホースに来るときも、絶対にここに滞在します！
Of course, the historical house is beautiful, but the greatest part of this B&B is warm hospitality of the host Bernie. We enjoyed the time we shared with him at his garden after dinner. It was really comfortable and made our staying more satisfying.
Rooms and furniture are lovely with the historical atmosphere. Kitchen and washrooms are very clean and tidy. As we could have a self-serve style breakfast, we could feel easy when we went out early in the morning. 
Anyway, we appreciate their hospitality and definitely will stay here next time in Whitehose again!

とても素敵な宿です! Fantastic B&B!

This is in a great location if you don't have a car and the large basement family room was perfect for us as a family of 4 with 2 teenage boys. Breakfast supplies for a continental breakfast were plentiful. The host Bernie is very friendly and helpful. The price is very reasonable.

This is not the place for you if you care for a modern, carefully edited decor or expect a 4 or 5 star hotel experience.

Charming and convenient

I arrived after midnight to be welcomed by Bernie who had a wonderful fire blazing in an old pot-bellied stove.  What  could be better!
If you want upscale faux-antique furnishings, the Rose Room isn't for you.  If you are like me and appreciate old  pieces that are 'experienced but clean and serve basic needs for a reasonable price, the accommodations are just fine.  I think that the downstairs suite is more modern.  
What I most enjoyed was the comfortable living room where guests chatted while enjoying their coffee or glass of wine while being warmed by that fire in the corner.  Made new friends which is always a nice part of travel.
I'm curious about the comments in another review: wobbly kitchen chairs and hard PB??  Perhaps Bernie and Pam responded to that concern because neither was the case for me.  My one suggestion would be to make bacon and eggs available for self-serve breakfast, even if that requires a small rate increase.
For the traveller without a car, the location is unbeatable.  I was able to visit the city on foot daily without any difficulty.
Finally, Bernie's willingness to help out in any way he could was really appreciated.I definitely plan to stay at the Historical Guesthouse again if the future holds another northern visit for me.
