A flawless stay in this hotel. Got sound sleep.

We had a wonderful spacious room with good wifi and quality towels.  Good parking right outside our room, and the bed was comfortable.   Checkin was easy with the owner.  We would definitely come back.

Fantastic place to stay, very convenient location being walking distance to the centre of Hokitika. Great facilities which included a six hole mini golf course our kids loved and played numerous times!

Spacious room, very clean. Great location as within walking distance of shops, supermarket, beach, restaurants and bars. Right next to a train track but only 2 trains each 24 hours while we were there so hardly a major deal. Bathroom sink could use a plug and if you like a harder pillow like me, best take your own. Overall though, great motel and when we're back in Hokitika, we'll stay here again without hesitation.

Clean, tidy, good staff, close to town and beach, good value for money.

Clean and tidy, located on main road, however there was no traffic noise. Off street parking. Easy walk to centre of town and the main beach by road, or on the boardwalk. Suited our needs.

Great Motel to stay at easy access to everything

Very central to town. Nice location. Nice setting. Did the Tree Top walk. Excellent. Thoroughly enjoyed our stay. P.s. Very friendly & great looking Labrador!!!!

Great value for money. Excellent place with everything we needed for a family of four. Much appreciated to have quality but budget friendly accomodation these days.

Heritage Highway Motel, as its name suggests, has a motel feel and look to it. However, it is cosy inside, and doesn't feel cramped with the 5 of us staying in it. There's a small dining table and sofa, kitchen with microwave, TV (with spotty Netflix) and 2 bedrooms. Curiously, there is only one bathroom with toilet, so there needs to be a bit of rationing when it comes to sharing. The bathroom is spacious, but because there is no separate area for bathing, the entire floor tends to get wet after showering (unless you point the showerhead in a certain direction.) The lady at the check-in desk was helpful and has an extremely cute and friendly dog!

Basic and functional

We are couple from Wellington passing through Hokitika. This was our second visit to this motel. Friendly reception gave us the last room. It exceeded our expectations. Numbet one for us, was no air freshener lingering, number two an up to date bathroom with a new modern toilet, the only one we came across in a week of visiting motels in the South Island.
Ask for Unit one, it has two bedrooms, lounge, and kitchen. Fresh and very clean, highly recommended.

Excellent Accommodation

We stayed one night, the man in the office was pleasant and welcoming, the unit was clean and looked to be recently repainted, it was a good size.   The man asked if we'd been to Hokitika before, we hadn't, he recommended driving to Hokitika Gorge and Lake Kaniere which we did, well worth it.    Also said if we wanted a simple, good meal to try the pub 'over the back', the Pioneer, a good choice.      Handy to the main shopping street, we'd be happy to go back again.

Comfortable, clean, convenient

Booked in and asked for the two bedroom unit (we prefer more space when it is cost effective).  Overall size of the room was excellent and it had everything we needed.  It appeared to be their son on reception when we arrived, he was pleasant enough.  It was clean, tidy and functional so did the trick for the one night perfectly.

Only downside was having to park a little  away from right the unit but that's nothing major.

Would be happy to stay again if we were travelling through.

Good value for money - nice and clean

The room was lovely and clean, it felt spacious and airy with no unnecessary "clutter". The kitchen facilities were great.The only gripe would be that there were apparently no facecloths provided - the owner directing us to the ONE "makeup"cloth in the bathroom, that the three of us were supposed to use? . I don't really want to have to bring my own facecloths.

Came here on our motorbike trip, we were a group of about 30. We almost took over the motel. Rooms were comfortable clean and cosy especially as we had a huge downpour overnight. Rooms are very quiet even though the motel is on the main road. It was a easy walking distance to town so we could have some dinner. Our hosts made a special effort as a favour and organised a group breakfast which we had outside. Luckily the rain had stopped and it worked out very well.
