Harry is an incredible host as you can see by the other reviews.  He is super responsive and went out of his way to make sure I enjoyed my stay.

The cabinas have everything you need to enjoy Tamarindo and it's a 10 minute walk into town. A grocery store is even closer.

The shared outdoor space is great for relaxing. Take a dip in the pool and lay on a water hammock before going to the top deck for sunbathing.

Every once in awhile I heard construction noise and music from other properties but it wasn't loud and didn't last long.

Harry is an incredible host and I loved his place so much that I booked a return trip before I left.

Fantastic host with a great place to relax before hitting the town

With Harry, you get what you get..... He is an awesome host, his cabinas are well taken care of and the property is in well repair, each cabinas (cabin) has a kitchenette and bathroom, air conditioning and a cold refrigerator. Locally centered to town and many stores to fill that refrigerator. Down the street is city centre..  (literally a 5 minute walk) where there are dozens of restaurants and shops.. harry's has safety and security on premises both a state of the are camera system but ga awesome gate.. I would list harry's as a super host, laundry on site along with bikes, surf boards and a refreshing pool... 10' deep.. 
A recommendation... Grab a golf cart or 4 wheeler to scoot around town. 
At the end of the street.. food store, atm (us dollars) and restaurants.
No children.   Adults only.

Harrys is a hidden gem

Unfortunately our experience at Harrys was disappointing to say the least. The photos do not reveal the true picture as the place was dirty and unclean. The bathroom smelled and had not been cleaned to which Harry confessed.  Stayed one night in the green room and decided to look for a cleaner place. We lost out on the $200 deposit fee but that's life...live and learn! Thankfully we found another place very close to town,very clean and only $25 extra a night.

This is why Harry’s gets a great rating:

- Harry's is within walking distance of the beach, grocery stores, many restaurants, bakeries, tour companies, farmer's market, and the night market.

- Harry has a vast knowledge of the area and can provide lots of great advice for getting the most from your time in Tamarindo.

- His cabinas are well stocked with toilet paper, paper towels, towels, soap, etc and basic cookware, dinnerware, and cutlery are provided.

- The plunge pool provides a great way to cool down during the heat of the day.

- The air conditioning is very efficient and quickly cools down the cabina when necessary.

- Fantastic selection of movies, TV shows, and music in each cabina.

- Each private patio has a wonderful hammock to relax and enjoy the sights and sounds of your surroundings.

- We got to see lots of wildlife from our patio.  Various lizards, birds, cool looking bugs, and monkeys.

- The common upper deck was a great place to have coffee in the morning.  I was lucky enough to catch a great view of the lunar eclipse from this deck.

- Harry was always readily available if there were any issues.  He was able to assist with everything we asked of him.

We thoroughly enjoyed our time at Harry’s.  Harry is a great person with a fantastic outlook on life.   We enjoyed our many visits with him at the cabinas and on the beach for happy hour.

Chill out and relax at this great location

I stayed at Harry’s back in May for 4 days at the beginning of my trip and then another night on my way back through Tamarindo.    The cabinas have everything you need and then some and most importantly are clean.   The pool is a nice treat as it gets smoking hot.   

Harry is a legend and showed me around town on bikes on where to eat and grab drinks.  I was an idiot and forgot my work computer at a different hotel along my travels and had it mailed to Harry to hold on to it for me, very good and trustworthy guy.  

If you’re looking for the 4 seasons you got the wrong joint but for the price, location, free bikes/boards, kitchen, hammock on your patio and pool you won’t find a better deal and I’m certain you will be happy.   Both Harry and his cabinas are great and I’ll definitely stay again.

Great place and Host

The owner Harry is a great guy who has done an incredible job with his place. It is a quiet jungle oasis in Tamarindo. He is very knowledgeable about the area and helpful with whatever you need to know. I highly recommend El Escondite!

Jungle Paradise

Harry's El Escondite is truly a "Hide-a way", as it took our shuttle driver a while to find it. After we suggested the driver, call Harry, he gave directions and greeted us at the driveway, This was just the start of our month stay and having Harry as our fabulous host. Anything that we needed, Harry was always there to support. Our cabana was very spacious and well equipped. With all the vegetation around the pool and cabana’s, it felt very private while sitting on your patio. The pool was a real treat after spending time at the beach. There are bikes, that we often used, and surfboards, if that is something that you want to try. Our typical morning started with coffee on the roof top deck and watching the Howler monkeys travel thru the trees. Often times coming across the deck, to the mango tree in front of the property. The location is very quiet and about a 10 minute walk to the beach. We will return again next year.

Harry's El Escondite

Just returned from fabulous Tamarindo and Harry’s warm hospitality!! He was a fabulous host. Taking care of us months before we arrived with travel plans, answering all of our questions and always so  cheery!

We stayed in a very spacious and well equipped cabana. With wonderful outdoor patio including lots of seating and hammocks. We lacked for nothing. Many kitchen extras at our disposal, great tv channels, Netflix, air con, plunge pool, laundry, bikes, surf boards, magazines, music, fruit trees... what more can I say!!!

He personally spends time getting to know all of his guests and that is why everyone returns a friend!
Everyday was better than the next. Thankfully his Spanish saved us when it came to making reservations and bookings for shuttles and trips. 

We felt like we had five star service without the price tag. Wonderful memories. Thank you sooo much Harry!  We will be back!!
