The best hotel during our two week stay in Okinawa (stayed here three nights). The five course dinners(!) and tasty breakfasts were fantastic! 

Very friendly staff, and close to everything on this small island. Don’t miss snorkeling with the sea turtles.

Boutique hotel located above the AMSL Aka Marine Science Laboratory with a view over the small island village of Aka Jima.

The hosts are most welcoming and the rooms exceptionally clean with views over the town and bay.

Tariff includes breakfast and dinner prepared by a skilled chef who worked in a Japanese restaurant in New Zealand for over a decade before coming to Aka.

Was picked form port although only 5-10 minute walk. Was given a lift to Nishibama beach although only about 20 minutes walk away.

Make sure you hire a snorkel from the hotel or beach side and go snorkelling to see the corals and fish and also go to Aka beach to snorkel with the turtles. Deer were wandering about and worth a walk to lookouts if you want further exercise.

A wonderfully peaceful place.

Aka Island is a truly magical place to be in April. The island is an enchanting mix of white sand beaches, aquamarine seas, lush vegetation and imposing mountains. And to make it even better there was hardly anyone there! Most days we had an entire beach to ourselves:-) The snorkelling is amazing - fantastic diversity of coral and fish plus sea turtles.
The Hotel perfectly compliments the experience because it is has lots of island character plus the food and the staff are incredible. This is not your normal hotel, as you will have read in other review, it is the top two floors of a private marine research lab. It was probably built in the 1970's and is not the most attractive of buildings nor are the facilities modern, however, this just adds to the charm of the place. The staff, Masashi, Rieko and Saki are so warm and friendly that you feel at home and cared for. Rieko is an amazing cook and the evening meal was always 5 or 6 courses of excellent Japanese cuisine. All the food is freshly prepared from good quality local fish, meat and vegetables. Breakfast is similarly excellent. Can't wait to visit again!

We arrived during the Typhoon season in this hotel and were initially really shocked. As already described this hotel is located above an older marine station so the surroundings doesn’t look like you’d expect considering the price we paid for it. There is one room where the food will be provided with simple interiors. BUT soon after our little shock we met the owner. They were indeed very friendly and open and have spoken a decent English. The first dinner was as great as several times mentioned in other reviews and the chef itself is such a wonderful and friendly men. The entire team is simply friendly and attentive and helpful wherever possible. So for each meal you come together in the dining room to enjoy the food and as well the interaction with the team or other guests. The owner was snorkeling with us showing us the best spots at this beautiful island. The beaches, the nature and the island in general is truly one of the most beautiful places we’ve been ever. There are only some guests during the day and it is certainly nowhere crowded. We stayed there for 5 days and really felt in love with the people and Aka. The rooms are simple but nice and  exactly like in the pictures and all with sea view.

ABSOLUTE CRIMINALS!!
These ROBBERS have charged me as if I stayed, even though due to unforeseen circumstances the ferries to Aka Island from Naha were all cancelled and I found myself trapped in the city with nothing to do or nowhere to stay. I had to urgently re-schedule my flight back to Tokyo to mitigate any risks. Still, Rekio from Hanamuro Inn was extremely rude and greedy, only cared about robbing my money. After endless disputes with booking.com even them (say that) cannot do anything to persude the oner to give me back my money. In summary not only my scuba diving holiday plan was ruined but also hundreds of pounds lost!! 
Needless to say Im taking legal action against these scam-people.
