Such a refreshing break before continuing on a journey too long for a heatwave. We booked only a few hours before arriving, Good thing we phoned to say we were arriving in the "cool" of the evening, as the booking had not reached the hotel. Friendly, understanding, unpretentious staff. Swimming staff told not to disappear till we had had our dip as spa closing time (10 pm) was approaching. Note - there is no time limit on access to spa area for hotel guests, so this was not strictly necessary but a sign of the welcoming attitude. The ground floor room was available and gratefully accepted. The towels and dressing gown are a big plus. The building is a beautifully renovated mill complex... a bit labyrinthine because the spa area is reached by stairs designed to enable restaurant and beer garden to operate without disturbing hotel guests. A price worth paying. The same applies to the price for the stay itself.
