Second time back! Absolutely love it there!

Best place on the bay!

Incredible snorkeling right off the shore and secluded portion safe from boats. Off the back porch we saw eel, stingray, parrotfish, flounder, trumpetfish, and countless other varieties. We will stay here when we return. They also arranged transport, could not have been happier

Excellent snorkeling, great value

My husband and I traveled to Half Moon for a wedding and stayed 10 days. Our suite had a fabulous view of the ocean with swaying palm trees and gorgeous seas. We enjoyed watching mongooses on the lawn every morning and evening.The room was immaculate and well-appointed. The bathroom was spacious with a huge shower and deep tub. We had breakfast on our patio most mornings. IRD service was excellent (Jason balanced the tray on his head!). Everything about our stay was idyllic. We both work in hospitality and noted their excellent F&B quality and service. We enjoyed lounging at the Cedar Bar and dined in all the restaurants. The staff was well-trained, friendly and helpful. The food was five star. My husband thought their French fries were the best he’s ever eaten. I think I had lobster almost every day! Steaks were also excellent. I found a new favorite cocktail—Cedar Wood, crisp and refreshing. We are equestrians, so we took the horseback ride by the beach and into the surf. Our guide, Javon, was knowledgeable and friendly and the horses well-trained. The wedding was on the beach and beautifully turned out. We enjoyed several meals in the bride and groom’s villa, also ocean front. It was one of the best holidays we’ve ever taken! Special thanks to the General Mgr., Shernette Chrichton, for the gracious hospitality. 

Half Moon, Jamaica, Over the Top Experience

Amazing experience, beautiful rustic cabin right in the water, walking distance to a wonderful downtown with excellent choices for food and drinks.  You can walk right out your door and into the water for fantastic snorkeling, friendly dive shop right at the end of the driveway.  Overall experience 10/10

Outstanding

Incredibly friendly staff and clean. Good wifi and excellent location a short stroll to everything but tucked away in a quite area with private beach. Excellent snorkeling steps from your door!

This was my second stay at Half Moon Resort. The new cabins are fabulous, as are the owners. The location cannot be beat - walk right out of your room and step into the water for snorkeling. Easy walking distance to West End yet private and relaxing. Thanks for another amazing holiday!

This is a small family-owned resort consisting of cozy cabin-style units which are comfortable and well-equipped with good AC, hot/cold running water, and a small refridgerator.  It is showing its age -- if you are looking for a luxury resort, then go to one of the big self-contained resorts in West Bay.  If you are looking for a quiet, yet easily walkable (to West End dive shops, stores, and restaurants) place to stay with a fantastic view and access to Half Moon Bay right outside your door, then this is the place.

Honestly i have not had the chance to come to this resort yet as my flight was cancelled. That said i did have repeated texts with Half moon resort regarding flight delays and changed requirements and they were more than willing to accommodate and responded to me in a timely manner. When they learned my flight was cancelled i got a full refund. I do hope i get the chance to visit some day.

Understanding

Our stay here was amazing start to finish. It is in a fantastic location if you want to be close to the action in West End but still in a secluded area. Its only 5 minutes away but at night when all the bars and restaurants are loud you can sleep soundly across the bay. Unfortunately the restaurant and dive shop weren’t reopened yet since COVID, but Rene was always in the main building and let us boil water for ramen soups, and borrow some dishes for our early morning cereal breakfasts before going scuba diving every day. 

If you like to snorkel the spot just in front of the rooms is well known for being a great spot to see all kinds of marine life including octopus and eels. 

The rooms are simple and clean. We had a mini fridge, fan and AC. The beds were comfortable and we slept very well.  The hammock on the front porch of the room got used a lot for some mid-afternoon naps. :)
