Nesbyen

I stayed in the main house, first floor. 
Good and spacious room with kitchen and (a small) bathroom with shower.
It is not many places to  eat in Nesbyen, so it was nice with the kitchen for some easy cooking.
I was bringing my bicycles, and I got to stor them in the barn and I got a place to wash  them after getting dirty on mountain tracks.
The owner was super nice and service minded.

Excelent central guest farm in Nesbyen

Charming, traditional and lovely place! The smell of old wood is just perfect. This place is worth a visit if you're in the area. The lady who runs the place is so helpful and nice, and she knows the history fairy well; just ask her! 

So charming! 

Perfect place to stay if you plan to do some bike trails and enduro cycling in the Nesbyen area. The accommodation has a number of different rooms so depending on the size of the party there are different options. Friendly owner offering barbecue pits and outdoor area access. No breakfast though so you need to bring that. Supermarkets in Nesbyen are open 7 days a week so that is easy to solve.

Great guest house in idyllic surroundings

We stayed here in July. The most historic, charming place we have ever stayed in. The history of this area is my family's history as we found the original farm house and met the family, who still lives there. The guest house has so much history and our host was so interesting and since this was a family home since the 1600's. I highly recommend it.

Historic town

My wife and I stayed on our way north from Oslo.

We wanted a place to break up the driving.

When we arrived, I was disappointed in the town, which was a bit down at its heals.

But my whole feeling changed the next morning when we had breakfast in the most delightful old dining room filled with family antiques. The breakfast itself was delicious and the setting, in the old part of the house that had been built in the 1600s, was extraordinary.

My wife was quite interested and our hostess spent well over a half hour talking with her about the various items on display in the dining room.

Our room was comfortable and clean.

Charming guest house in so so location

this was a fascinating place to stay. A traditional Norwegian farmhouse, full of wonderful antiques. Our room had a great bathroom, small sitting room with big TV. It was absolutely charming in it's quirkiness. The lady owner was lovely and very friendly.
If you have time, walk down to the local church. There are 10 Commonwealth WW2 graves, they are beautifully cared for. A Lancaster bomber from 617 squadron crashed here in the 1940's. It is a very poignant spot. There is a nice waterfall and folk museum in the village.

a real taste of Norway!

This charming old farm building has been in the same family for generations.  It is lovingly preserved with museum quality Norwegian antiques.  Yes, I was wishing that I could somehow take many of the  antiques home in my suitcase!  The hotel is located in the small community of Nesbyen which has a pretty stave type church and peaceful surroundings. The breakfast is an extra charge but was worth every kronor to sit in the charming dining room.  An experience that we will always remember!
