Guesthouse Reynir

We only stayed for one night at the end of May on our trip around Island. We found Reynir Guesthouse fully accommodating. Everything was clean, the place was very quiet. We enjoyed shared kitchen and the interactions with other guests during the dinner preparation. View from our room window down to the beach was perfect. We had a small issue with one of our rooms, but Mrs. Begga came in less than five minutes after we called her number and resolved our problem in an instant. She was really very friendly and helpful. She also gave us a very usefull information about some points of interest nearby we would have probably missed. Thank you very much for your kind hospitality.

My friend and I were trying to get to our hotel near Vatnajokull to do the ice caves until the roads turned too icy for our car to continue. We had to turn around and go back to Vik, so I was desperately calling around for a place to stay that night. We found this place, where an absolute gem of a woman answered the phone and said she had a room for around €125. We were just super happy to have a place to stay. When we arrived, she was at the front desk and told us that she has another room open up for €99. This was so nice of her- we had already agreed to €125 and she told us about the cheaper option (which would have made her less money). She gave us our key and the room was very clean and nice. There were also two bathrooms and multiple showers available if you booked the community option. We weren’t very lucky that night, but I’d bet that it would be an incredible place to see the northern lights (I’d never seen so many stars!) Easy five minute drive to the black sand beach- you could even hear the ocean from the balcony. We even called after hours to ask about the wifi password and she was super friendly and more than happy to help (hint: it’s on the back of the key). She made our terrible day so much better, and we would absolutely stay here again.

We were in trouble with the roads closed and everything fully booked. The owner opened and cleaned the guesthouse just for our party of 8 people. The place was spotless and spacious. Also very close by was the Black Sand Beach restaurant/cafe where we ended up having dinner. Thank you again for your hospitality!

Such cute and clean guesthouse,  in the middle of pure nature... I was in the group of 22, we were only guests... Friendly owner,  good coffee 😊. Black beach,  Skogarfoss with the hike,  Vik in the neibourhood... We stayed 3 nights & I loved it...

This guesthouse is amazing.
The location is great, very near the beach.
The rooms are cosy and have everything you need. There is a fully equiped kitchen with two stoves, dishwasher, fridge, freezer and all the pots and pans you need. 
Great dining area. Showers are large and comfy.
And it is super clean.
You won't get a better stay than here!

Stayed for one night with my daughter in mid-June 2021. Cost was around $65USD for a room with shared bath. Booked through Booking.com. Property is about 10 minutes outside of Vik but very close to Reyisfjara beach, and surrounded by a stunning setting.

The entire property was absolutely spotless. Room was basic and small with a fold out table, sink, and stool. Beds were comfortable and it was very quiet at night. We slept very soundly. This is definitely not a place to stay  if you are seeking a late-night party atmosphere.  

The common spaces were large and spacious. There were two rooms with toilets and sinks, three shower rooms, and a common kitchen and dining space. Kitchen had amazing views all around and had all were stocked with normal cooking utensils and basic ingredients. Complimentary coffee and tea were available as well. WiFi was fast! Plenty of space and facilities for a guesthouse with only 10 rooms. 

A great place to stay if you seek the quiet of the countryside, want to prepare your own meals, and have your own transportation. I'd happily stay here again.

We spent one night here on our first night in Iceland. It had everything we needed. Kitchen was perfectly equipped - beds are comfortable - everything was super clean. check in is not until 4 - we arrived a bit early and noone was there so we drove down the road to Black Beach  - 2 minutes away - and wandered for a bit and by the time we got back we could check in. In the morning we met Becca (not sure of spelling) who is the wonderful, personable owner and totally enjoyed our visit with her.

I LOVED LOVED LOVED this little guesthouse.  We had a double room with private toilet/shared shower and an amazing view of Reynisdrangar and the beach from our room.  I believe our room had the only private toilet.  There are two communal toilets and three showers,which are separate from the toilets. The shower I used was large, had a great view of the beach, and was spic and span clean. There was a communal kitchen as well.  I left my charger/converter by mistake and came back a few days later on our way through and it was there waiting for me.  The young lady who helped me went out of her way and I thank her again!  This was just a great stay in a beautiful place with interesting people to meet from all over the world.  Will not stay anywhere else in Vik area on my next trip to Iceland.

We only stayed here one night on our travels.  It's out in the country, we even had sheep in our yard!  The lady working was super nice, she helped us with our map and gave us suggestions on roads etc...  She helped us with coffee in the morning and was just a pleasure to talk to.  Our room was very clean and the beds comfortable.  It was chilly and the radiator in our room had great heat.  I would recommend this place to anyone, it was nice.

We were doing the ring road in Iceland. It was our first stay ever in a place with shared spaces and it was so good! There was a fully equipped kitchen. The shower/toilet facilities were great: warm water, a lot of space to put your things. The place was very clean and well maintained. In the morning we met the lovely owner and had a brief chat. The location was perfect too with stunning views and so close to the Reynisfjara Beach.

Reynir was exactly what we needed whilst exploring the south coast, easy and clean and right in the middle of everything we wanted to visit. 

Kitchen facilities are excellent and showers and warm, good pressure and clean. 

A good base for to launch from to get to Diamond beach and beyond. 

Only negative and hence the 4/5, the beds are hard and a bit lumpy (pillows also) but is expected with the turnover. 

The checkin and out is simple and easy. 

Would recommend this guesthouse.

Simple and did the job

Very nice and quiet place near Vik

We stayed for just the one night and enjoyed it. We had a twin room with a shared bathroom and kitchen. It was all very clean and had a modern feel about it. The only minor negative was the lack of carpet which made a little less cosy, but it was lovely and warm still. Vik was just a ten minute drive around the other side of the mountain.

We stayed for one night as we wanted to visit Reynisfjara beach early next morning.
The room is decent and with a good kitchen and property overall had a hostel like feel. Breakfast option (paid or complementary) would have been good to have 
Begga (the owner) strikes great conversations. Overall a good deal if you want to stay near black sand beach in Vik.
