Guesthouse Húsid

We stayed as part of a School group with pupils aged 14-17. Jana and her family/team could not have looked after us better.
The accommodation was excellent and ideal for our needs, with comfy beds and warm showers. Jana cooked excellent dinners that pupils and staff alike enjoyed and were appropriate for hungry teenagers (and staff). Packed lunches are sometimes an issue with this type of accommodation, as often there is limited choice. With the ability to make our own sandwiches there was not a single complaint amongst the party.
We will be back again and Guesthouse Husid is highly recommended.

Went with a school group to Guesthouse Husid. Beds were very very comfy and our host was very welcoming. Home cooked food was great, some typical Icelandic fayre! Would recommend for a group/ school trip booking

I love this place! I have stayed at Husid many times with school groups over the last few years, but this summer I had the privilege of taking 17 of the family to introduce them to the wonders of Iceland. Husid made an amazing base where we could all be together. Jana is such a fantastic host – so welcoming and nothing is too much trouble! Her team are fantastic and really made us feel at home during our stay. Such a great place to return to, in a beautiful location, with fantastic views all around. The ideal base for exploring the wonders of the SE of Iceland. I can’t wait to return – a place that holds so many happy memories for me – I can highly recommend, from solo travellers through to groups - there is accommodation to suit! Our family certainly had the holiday of lifetime this summer and had the perfect place to stay and the best hosts!

Guesthouse Husid provides a really authentic Icelandic experience, with a stunning backdrop and clean simple rooms. Jana is a really welcoming host and her hearty home-cooked meals really hit the spot after a long day of exploring all of the wonders of Iceland. The location is great for accessing the south coast and the lack of light pollution made seeing the northern lights (which we were lucky enough to) even more special. We will definitely be staying here again on future trips to Iceland!

A welcoming guesthouse in an beautiful location. Rooms were clean and comfortable. Food was home cooked with care and absolutely delicious. Highly recommend for solo travelers and groups alike. Thank you Jana and family for helping to make the trip of a life time!

Had a nice stay for four days, owners really nice and tolerant. There is a living room with a great view and super cozy. Plus a super cute chubby dog. The kitchen was in another house a short walking distance and it was very clean.

I stayed in one of the Cabins at the back of the main building. It was cosy, clean and incredibly relaxing

Jana and her family were great hosts for our school group going on a once in a lifetime geography field trip to Iceland.  Lovely food, comfortable surroundings and spectacular views of Eyjafjallajokull.  An outstanding experience.

We booked last minute and we ate so glad we did! The room was nice, it had a queen bed and a little sink. The bathroom was clean, had a shower with hot water and good water pressure. 
Breakfast had juice, coffee, tea, toast, cereal, and fruit options.

We had a wonderful stay at Guesthouse Husid, Jana and family were extremely welcoming to our school group. The rooms were very clean and food was home cooked and extremely enjoyable. 
It did not matter that the rooms weren't en-suite, there were hand basins in each room and ample bathrooms and shower rooms located all around the guesthouse. Tea/coffee and water was readily available at all times and the students were made to feel at home. The sports field made evening activities straightforward.

Fantastic Guesthouse Husid

Fabulous place! Highly Recommend.

Perfect for a school trip!

I visited Guesthouse Husid with my school and it was amazing. The location is good for travelling around southern Iceland but quite far from the airport. The host is very welcoming and kind. She told us information about the place and informed us about the area so it was very interesting. She served very delicious food and breakfast was also quite good, we were never disappointed with it. The rooms are good sized however the beds are a bit firm and the house is very old so the bathrooms are a little dated but that didn’t make the experience too bad. The playing field is also very good for evening activities and the dogs they have are so friendly and well behaved. 

Overall our stay was over my expectations and I was very satisfied with staying there and would definitely recommend it and would certainly return in the future!

Amazing trip staying in an amazing place

Cosy atmosphere. The owner was Very kind and helpful. You can feel the atmosphere of Iceland there. Seems to live with the family even if you can have your privacy.
Clean , beautiful view on land and in vulcano... you need a car to go out fir dinner. Very close to a spa, too.
Breakfast in a nice area back the house.(not included in the room cost, but ok)

Highly recommended!

Nice and clean. The rooms are ok but the shared toilet at the first floor is quite small. 
Breakfast is good.
I didn't have the occasion to meet the owners so I cannot give a complete opinion about their hospitality.
Nothing particularly neither outstanding nor negative.
