The Gertrudstrasse Guesthouse is the same outfit as the Swiss Star Guesthouse District 3. On the outside it actually says Hotel Gertrud. Check-in and check-out is VERY easy with the five digit keycode machine outside. The beds are good. The rooms are very basic, not even a chair. It is on a lively square in a neighbourhood with many bars and restaurants so there is notable streetnoise at night. Overall good value for money.

Good beds, otherwise quite basic, street noise

Great value for money. good sized room, clean and quiet. It's a simple hotel, but considering switzerland's eye watering costs, I was very happy.
nothing bad to say. I didn't use the wifi but it seemed messy to setup.

Amazing value for Zurich

Went to this hotel last year as a quick stopover before we went to Italy. There was no check in process as the key was supposed to be done via a drop box. However at the time the code given was incorrect. Had to wait for more than an hour before the staff came to give the correct code. The room is pretty big but as we had 2 rooms I noticed that the same standard room had different sizes. Overall no significant impression on the hotel itself. If you want to get a cheap hotel in amd near Zurich, go for this one, but don't expect any facilities there.

Nice stay

We had a front ground floor room for 7 long nights. The room was unbearably hot, no air conditioning or ventilation apart from the window - trouble was there is a pub literally a few doors away and the NOISE is unbelievable especially as the drinkers congregate outside, next to the room. Between 4 adults there was one chair, one mirror and four bath towels which were not changed. This we could deal with but the heat, lack of air and the noise would prevent me from ever staying here again.

Avoid at all costs!

My wife and I stayed for 7 nights in May 2016. We thought the apartment was spacious, if a little dirty and worn out -- the wood laminate floor by the bathroom was actually broken and dangerous, but we wore shoes to be safe. The sheets were changed only once during our stay, and the toiletries were never replenished. But guess what we discovered when we arrived back home?  CRAB LICE. That is we both had been infested with both head lice and pubic lice. We are undergoing treatment now. In all our travels over the years we have never had such a revolting experience. We suggest that you avoid this hotel.
