Grove Hotel

We cherish the fire cherry grove and have not visited it in quite some time. It has served as an ideal short getaway from the city, providing a serene environment for our canine companion to relax and rejuvenate.

The Grove is basic but comfortable and clean. We were able to check in early which was nice. The staff was great when we accidentally locked ourselves out. Great location in the center of Cherry Grove.

People working at the hotel were great and friendly. Nice people all around Fun entertainment with Uncle Spooky and the horror flick. Great beach, great food and drinks

This is a great place to stay. The staff is warm and welcoming. The rooms are clean and well maintained. The property had a pool, a bar, and a cute little shop attached. The Location is perfect. Literally steps away from the beach, the market, the restaurants. I will definitely be staying here again.

My girlfriend and I had an absolutely wonderful time visiting Cherry Grove/Fire Island for the first time, and the Grove Hotel was a big reason why.

Our room was immaculate, it appeared to have been recently renovated/updated, with plenty of room for 2 and a nice mini-balcony for viewing the wildlife at the pool and the bar. 😎

Cherry Grove is a tiny hamlet, so location can't be a real issue no matter where you stay, but the hotel is literally steps away from the clubs, restaurants, shops, market, ferry, water taxi, etc. And it has its own great club (the Ice Palace).

But what really sets this hotel apart is the staff. Just so incredibly friendly and laid back and super helpful anytime we needed anything - like checking our luggage when we got there early, texting us when our room was ready while we enjoyed a cocktail by the pool, providing extra pool towels on request, room cleaning on demand. Even the cleaning staff was friendly and engaging.

It's hard to think of any way they can improve the experience, so I'll get very picky and suggest they could expand the pool hours (closing the pool at 8pm or even 6pm on some days was an epic tragedy 😫).

Nonetheless, if we ever get back to Cherry Grove we know where to stay.

My friends & I had a great weekend on FI staying here! Super convenient, friendly staff, great location. Just a little beach hotel nothing fancy- the ice machine didn't work, we killed a bug or two in the room- but overall a great stay for a casual friend party weekend for sure! 
We were also in one of the newly renovated rooms & were pleasantly surprised with how nice it was! 
Would deff return. 

Stayed at the Grove Hotel for an overnight with a friend who had never visited Fire Island and we both had an awesome time . Our second floor room had amazing views of tranquil Cherry Grove from ocean to bay . Concierge and staff are super helpful and friendly and our standard room was immaculate , spacious , and comfortable with extra blankets and a second bed you can pull out of couch . Lots of hot water in bathroom and I loved the moisturizing shampoo and soaps ! The pool is pristine with lots of deck space to lounge and being adjacent to beach and town is so ideal. 
I limited my phone use this time but will certainly have to snap some pics to add to this review when we return for a longer stay !

It was a pleasure staying at the Grove hotel. My mom and I stayed and we enjoyed the new hotel. The rooms were nice, new and roomy for fire island. We enjoyed the nightly entertainment and activities. We loved the staff, by the end of the trip we felt like family Thanks, lacey for hosting us and being so thoughtful to my mom. 



I have been staying at The Grove Hotel now for over a decade now so thought it is time for a review. My spouse and I consider Cherry Grove my home away from home.

This was our second season staying at the grove hotel since the renovations. My favorite part checking in each season to the hotel is being so welcomed by familiar faces because it reminds me another great summer is upon us all. 

The rooms all vary in size but each has a mini-fridge and a comfortably sized bathroom. The hotel staff is also always available to help. Once I had to book a water taxi to somewhere in Fire Island, I had no clue and they quickly got on the phone with the water taxis services to help out. 

The hotel has a pool and The Ice Palace nightclub with multiple events each day and night. It provides more to do than just going to the beach. On the weekends there are interactive drag pool shows where guest can lounge poolside to enjoy. One of my personal favorite events is Tuesday’s scary movie nights hosted by Uncle Spooky. With popcorn, bingo and a projector screen, it creates the perfect setting for a throwback to the classic horror films. 

One additional perk is the hotel offers bag check if you arrive early or also if you want to stick around after check out. 

In short, I can’t wait for next summer...

A must for a long weekend or extending time on the island. The staff so friendly, competent and the renovated vibe a definite step up!

Perfect stay for Cherry Grove/Fire Island 

Convenient & casual beach stay! 

It was clean. Small. Plain. But had what it needed. I was concerned that I would hear people in the rooms above and next door but we didn’t. This place can use a little decoration  on the walls. But it was fine for what it was. I was only here for one night. I wouldnt stay for much more than that. Front staff megan was really nicer

There is no place like it

We rented a room for four people. It's small and expensive, but you're paying for the location. It's right in the heart of Cherry Grove, and the room was much nicer than we thought it would be. (Many people have mentioned the rooms have been renovated after a fire so photos may not be accurate). The one thing is they're not staffed 24 hours, so we weren't able to complete check out and get our room key deposit back because we left before 10 AM.
