Grand Eceabat Hotel

While in the way for Troy tour, we stopped here for lunch only. Met with RSL Tour operator and guide Hasan. Third floor restaurant has a nice view to the sea. We had our lunch Turkish kebab with rice and salads. Then watermelon and a cup of tea.  We took many photos from the top facing the sea and the harbour while cars go in to the ferry. 

Very clean room with all expected facilities. Very close to ferry wharf to Cannakkale but still quiet due to double glazing. Hotel also runs tours to Troy and Gallipoli. Troy tour was dissappointing due to a lacklustre guide - however hotel refunded an appropriate proportion of cost when told this. Gallipoli tour was probably the best tour I've ever done - again due to the tour guide. Hassan is simply magnificent. Breakfast was ok. Wifi worked fine. Staff were helpful and assisted in booking a coach.

Well located for the battlefields and ferry to Canakkale,provided a very good packed lunch reasonably priced

Had a great stay. The top service of the staff made it a fantastic experience. The owner went out of his way to help right from the start when we became stuck in Gellibolu about 50km from the hotel. He sent his driver to pick us up and take us to the hotel late in the evening. The hotel had it's quirks, lift often not working, no hot water one day, tour & bus timing was a variable concept, but overall I would recommend the hotel on the strength of friendly helpful staff and great location. I would highly recommend a private tour of the battlefields with Hasan who is the best tour guide in the area, very friendly and amazing knowledge of the history.

Grand Eceabat, Gallipoli Peninsula

I suppose what you pay for is what you get. Whilst the location of the Grand Eceabat is wonderful the hotel is in serious need of a makeover or at least a good clean up. Our room could have been much cleaner as there was fluff on the floor, the toilet leaked and the shower/bath recess was not particularly clean. We also did not have hot showers. Due to the eating area of the hotel being used by many bus tours, the area was not always ready and was also quite messy. I'm sure that in its day this was a Grand hotel and could be once more with the right amount of effort and make over. The Wifi was very poor unless you sat in the hallway under the router. I recommend however, staying in Eceabat instead of Canakkale as closeness to Gallipoli Peninsular is better. I would stay at this hotel again despite its condition but I sincerely hope work is done on it to make it the once Grand place it was.

Could be better

Situated directly opposite the Canakkale ferry terminal, the Grand Eceabat is more Eceabat than grand. It needs a complete renovation. Poor shower facilities and poor carpet. The reception desk relied on another person to interpret. That's ok in another country, but I would have thought some consideration for nonTurkish guests would have been considered. The internet is poor and generally only worked sitting in the corridor. Overall, a cheap price for a cheap facility. If I was to revisit, I would look elsewhere, but if forced to stay there, would not necessarily mind.

More Eceabat than Grand

We thought this would be the best place to stay as it is close to Anzac Cove. Unfortunately the hotel needs major renovations. Our bed was completely broken in the middle, carpet stained and dirty. The breakfast was very average. Got the impression no one cared. Only good thing was Garvin of Battlefield Tours has his office there. He arrange for our fantastic guide, Hasan to take us around Gallipoli. 


Tired hotel

yani eceabattaki en merkezi yer camdan çok ses geliyor ve eski ama kesinlikle villa bağcı çok daha iyi. 
this places is location is in the center but rooms are too noisy. ı think villa bağcı is better then this places. and toilets are a little bit messy.
