We had a fantastic stay in this lovely hotel, starting with a wonderful welcome from the staff at reception when we first arrived. The room was not huge, but it was quiet, very clean, and comfortable and warm during extremely cold weather. The location is excellent, with plenty of good restaurants nearby (we particularly enjoyed the Bistrot Rougemont), a Velib dock right outside the front door, and good walking routes to Montmartre, the Marais, and other great areas of Paris - and it was only a 10-15 minute walk from the Eurostar terminal at Gare du Nord. The very best thing about an already hugely enjoyable stay was the friendly professionalism of Matthias on the front desk, for whom nothing was too much trouble. I travel all the time for work - I have stayed in dozens of hotels over the years - and he is unquestionably the most impressive hotel employee I have ever encountered. He deserves a pay rise and a promotion!
