The requirements to live here are a bit steep. You need money. This is not arranged for the poor or middle class. Unfortunately the people who are in control here are not catering to everyone. Which is very sad because they were once poor and middle classed themselves. They forgot their past life styles. 

I love Flamingo Resort Residence - I live here about 6 years and always enjoy it. Amazing security system, amenities like pool, jacuzzi, few grocery stores, dry cleaning, barbecue station, basketball court and so on. Apartments facing a bay have million dollar view. It's a heaven on the earth.

My sweet home

We booked a place in the South Tower for our family holiday through airbnb though we were advised by the owner when we arrived that airbnb is actually not permitted and therefore we needed to be careful not to mention it to any of the staff/residents though it appears there is a lot of airbnb and short term rentals in the building. The apartment itself was nice and clean with a beautiful view, the common areas though could use a facelift and some cleaning. This is a "dog friendly" complex so there are dogs everywhere including certain common areas that smell of dog/urine. The pool area was really nice and perfect for kids; the highlight of our stay. Main issue with the building was the noise level, the walls feel paper thin so you could hear everything the neighbors are doing...EVERYTHING. As well there is major construction happening on the outside of the building but it can be heard very loudly within the unit we were staying in and in all the common areas, luckily though it stopped everyday at about 4:30 PM and in weekends. Highly recommend if you just want a clean place to crash while visiting Sobe but be prepared if you are a family looking for a very quite place.

Fine for a holiday but very noisy....

Most unprofessional, ghetto management and leasing team I’ve ever encountered. Several issues such as maintenance men entering unannounced, cigarette smell throughout the apartment, fire alarm tests constantly, water heater breaks often, power shut offs in the middle of summer, it goes on and on. AVOID THIS BUILDING AT ALL COSTS. It’s far from luxury.

WORST BUILDING IN SOUTH BEACH

Where do I begin... 
I rented at The Flamingo this summer for just over 2 months (Yes, AirBnb & Rentals are allowed in the South Tower if they are 30+ nights) and I could not wait to get out of this corrupt community. 
The south tower security & management are helpful, and actually do try to make things right for residents when something is wrong. (South Tower security & management is different from center & north towers). Also, personally I never had a problem with rats/bugs in my tower, apartment. The South Tower pool is also not bad & location is prime.  
Let's start with the whole "Pet Friendly" concept. NOTHING against dogs "I have 2 myself," but the residents here simply allow their dogs to go to the bathroom wherever they please around the property, most not picking up after them which leaves the outside premises, especially the courtyard, always smelling like dog feces. Cannot tell you how many times I would see people distracted on their phones while their dogs urinated in the middle of walkways and they simply don't do a thing about it.  
Next, we'll move onto security. The security here is absolutely horrible. My two dogs would keep this place more safe than they do. First, the Miami Beach/Dade County PD/FD are called on-site almost daily. I saw people get taken out of building ons stretchers weekly. One guy was screaming, fighting police & they had him strapped down onto the stretcher, and once I even saw a woman in my building lobby with her face covered in blood (hope everything ended up okay). I chose the option to pay for valet monthly, instead of self-parking. Twice during my stay, security told me valet was full and I had to find parking somewhere else, where each time I had to pay $20 to park in a alternative garage and then was refused to be reimbursed by the complex, even though I paid almost $300 a month to have unlimited valet privileges. And to put the cherry on-top, with about 2 weeks left in my stay, the new security team (first day I saw them on site) shut the front gate on the back of my car, causing almost $1300 in damage. When talking to them about this you could tell they didn't care, wanted nothing to do with it & told me they each "saw and heard nothing." Head of security was somewhat helpful the following day, but still did not resolve anything.
Lastly, the management team. These people all look like they dislike their jobs, do not treat residents with respect & frankly do not do what they should be to help keep the complex functioning in a efficient manner. Speaking to management in-person is always a ordeal because there is a line/30-45 min wait because everyone has issues at this place. Anything wrong they always point you to someone else just to get it out of their hands, knowingly. When approaching them about my car damage, they told me to talk to the police, so I did. The police told me since it was a civil matter, and no crime was committed they did not need to be involved, and I quote the officer, "It's sad because The Flamingo grounds are in fact nice, it's just not run with professionalism or integrity." 
I am still in the process of getting my car damage settled, but it's difficult when you email management twice, as well as leaving 2 voicemails and nothing is returned. In the end, it "did the job" for my small amount of time, but I would NOT recommend to anyone. I always feel so bad when I see people moving in.

Where do I begin...

Beautiful grounds, super loud music at the pool. We are on the 3rd floor in North Tower. Music thumps all afternoon till clsimg at sunset. Management sends emails asking residents to not play music in community spaces, yet security does not enforce the no music by the pool. Very annoying.

Also, apartment walls are very thin. We can hear our neighbors on both sodes of us and above. If they play music or talk or run a. Low dryer we hear it. I assumed walls would be concrete or at least have insulation to mask boose, but they don't. 

Multiple times I've seen people walking in lobby without shoes looking strung out from a long night, and dog (assumably) pee in elevator. Our trash room is filthy. Often their are nails sticking put of mouldings that maitanence had removed unsafely. There are no recycling options available wven though recycling is mandatory in Miami Dade county.

We had a black mold problem, roaches and the paint on our tub has had to been replaced twice in 7 months because it is applied poorly and peels off.

Flamingo is owned by a large corporation, Aimco. I do not recommend staying or living here to anyone.

Beware

Ok, little bit of advice. The management team in flamingo building is trained to steal your money, they're legally hired crooks. They find any reason to try and take away your deposit if you try to move out. They make it really easy to move in 1 month free rent, and a 1000$ deposit. But it's all a trap you start off paying 2100$, and 6 months later when you have to sign a new lease they higher the price, and if you don't sign it they tell you to get the heck out. All the elevators are broken, they really don't care about you in the slightest. You let them know about the problem and they do not fix it. The elevators in the north building have been broken for literally a year straight now they do not give a hoot about you. Prostitutes everywhere, druggies, and dog poop all over the floor. They don't clean the stairs, piss stains, graffiti, puke stains. I've been living in this building complex for over 3 years now, and they still don't give a hoot about me, imagine you. I say stay away from this building and find a better one with more caring staff. NOT A HOTEL, FAMILY BUILDING COMPLEX! they're not family if they treat you like poop they do not care for you!
