Extremely disappointed with the apartment.  Tired after 2 years of being closed.  Bathroom was awful - no water pressure, no bathmat, one old towel, 1 tiny cake of soap for the  5 nights  and the smell was horrendous. I had to ask for toilet paper as only half a small roll was provided. 
The WIFI didn't work 99% of the time.  The TV didn't work at all.
The aircon - constantly dripped so much so that the entire floor and bottom of the bed were soaked most mornings - it didn't cool very well so luckily an old pedestal fan was there as a back up.
The kitchen had a microwave and fridge and a few plates but that's about it - nothing to wash the dishes with, cutlery and plates dirty - as obviously been left unwashed for quiet some time.
Bed linen was stained and old and only changed on Day 5 of my stay
It took me telling them I was leaving to get someone to clean my room - that was on Day 5!
On check-in was not offered any help with luggage - and I was on the 4th floor - so struggled up 4 flights of steep stairs at night in an extremely badly lit stairwell.
Most mornings and nights the reception appeared to be abandoned - the front gate was shut at around 6pm and the main front door locked - luckily I saw another guest coming out the side door - or Would have been locked out.  Occasionally a  boy - always appeared to be dressed only in his boxer shorts would appear and say hello.

Tired and in need of a revamp of rooms and service

I'd return.  The room is spacious and the balcony facing the street is a great place to relax.  Very clean, good water pressure, comfortable bed and decent a.c., once you learn to insert your room key in the socket close to the balcony!

The food choices within a one minute walk are varied and excellent.  We loved both the Taj Mahal nearly across the street and the Atmo, directly behind the corner.

All in all, other than the lack of a pool or an elevator, this place was absolutely fine.

Stayed there for over a week, and will come there again next time.

Spacey, well-equipped rooms with a small kitchen, very clean and quiet.
Central location within Vientiane's small city center close to almost all its attractions.
All this came along with a very attractive room rate.

Said this, there were a few issues that can lead to irritation: poor Wifi, only a tiny piece of soap, and the tiny stream of water from the shower. The backside rooms are quiet with the exception of the noise from a kitchen ventilator from the neighboring hotel.

Except a few details - very pleasant stay

Enjoyed staying here, we stayed 3 nights in 2 different rooms (4th floor) as we had only booked for 2 nights, prefered the front facing room as not much of a view from the back ones. Small kitchenette with microwave, bar fridge, kettle and some utensils but no supplied coffee or tea. Spacious room with balcony, tiled floors, seating area and efficient air con. Stairs may be an issue for some. Some water damage to the ceiling. In a good central location close to restaurants (recommend "The Lao Kitchen" just around the corner) and shops. Staff were pleasant with rudimentary english (a lot better than my Lao)? Anyhow should we return to Vientiane we would stay here again.

Would stay there again

For what you pay, you are getting excellent value. Location is central in city and rooms are fairly large and relatively modern. You get a bed, wardrobes, shelves, hot shower and toilet, fridge, cutlery and plates and a microwave.
There is AC and fan if you want too and your own balcony which is a big bonus. The only thing I would recommend the owners to do is include a jug or kettle to boil water but again for the price this is really good.
Plenty of places to eat from here, around the corner 100m away is Noy's fruit bar which we went to a lot for their smoothies and food.
Staff are friendly and accommodating and rooms are cleaned daily. Highly recommended!
Just note that this is a 4 storey building with no lift. Either request a room on a lower floor or enjoy the exercise!


GREAT VALUE for money

I first stayed here two years ago and it left a very good impression. A couple of weeks ago, I was back and I got the same room two years prior and I'm glad to say that everything is the same — the spacious room's cleanliness, the great price, the polite and unobtrusive staff that will go out of their way to assist you, the quiet location, etc. I love the location, walking distance to my favorite cafes, Monument bookstore and the riverside night market. I also love the fact that there's an electric fan in the room (even though the AC was working perfectly. They could fix the AC to make it less noisy but it did nothing to dampen our stay; it was a very pleasant stay and I certainly will stay here again whenever I'm in Vientiane.
