This was perfectly situated after our 25km hike from Lac Chambon is the only good thing I can say about this property and in hindsight I would have been happier to walk further for better accommodation.

We arrived at about 17.00 but had a few beers in the hotel grounds before we could check in.

The accommodation is located away from the main building. My single room had two twin beds, one of which had a bedside lamp at one end and a telephone at the far end of the other single bed. Luckily there was no phone call during the night.

The shower cubicle had no fixed shower head but a hand held shower. How much extra to have this wall mounted, Peanuts. The towels were so thin I had to use two to dry myself. There was no Bath Mat, no Hairdryer, No heating to dry the wet towels or clothing so people hang things outside on trees, no TV and the lighting is very dim.

The restaurant had the Dog strolling around between tables and there was an abundance of flies, both flying and dead killed by patrons. This was the only property which seemed to have a fly problem.

There is a games room which I guess befits a youth hostel type property.

Dinner was fine but probably the worst of the trip and time was spent ushering away flies. As with dinner where our party of eight had 8 slices of bread breakfast also included 8 Croissants.

This property was all about maximising profit with little value for money and my half-board was €76. The best thing was leaving for Clermont-Ferrand after breakfast.
