Ersfjord Cottage

It's not easy to talk about this cottage because there are some really beatiful things but also a few negative points... Let's start with positives' points: Location, the best in the area Warm wooden cottage with confortable bed Resonable price for the area The owner lives in the other cottage just in front (just in case you need something, otherwise you have full privacy). Equipment included tripod, crampon and reflector very usefull when you go out in winter. Peaceful with beautiful landscape and good location for northern lights. And now the negatives points: Dusty, not the floor but the rest must be clean! Toilet is very cold, you have to keep the door open (and it's in the kitchen!) to let the warm go inside. Hot water not enough for a shower!!! In winter is not acceptable! You have to pay an extra for the parking but without car is impossible to arrive here and the parking is outside, just on the street. In winter maybe it's to keep the area clean from snow... I'm not sure you can reach the cottage without a 4x4 in winter, fortunatly we had an upgrade from the rental because we didn't book a 4x4 and they gave no info about this. So, it's a good choise but they should keep it clean and provide hot water. The owner is a nice person, we left a msg out of his door in the morning and we found a bag with the things we asked out of our door in the evening. Do not forget to ask for hairdryer, it's not so common in Norway! He can give suggestion for the trip and activity in the area. The cottage has a big area with double bed, table, chairs, books and games, many informations, candles, a small equiped kitchen and a small toilet with shower, the only sink is in the kitchen. The location is super and the cottage itself is really nice.
