This is a small family run hotel convenient to the airport and Iraklion city. (Buses run to from airport every 20 minutes, cost €2.10. Hotel arranged transfer €30). The area is OK with a variety of tavernas etc and small beaches. We stayed 3 days before moving to our next resort. Reception, restaurant and cleaning staff were all very helpful and friendly, especially if you made the effort to speak a few words of Greek such as kalimera etc. We booked direct and received a complimentary upgrade. The breakfast was very good for a Greek hotel, full continental plus fried and scrambled eggs and a meat choice which varied day to day. The pool area was clean and in September there were always loungers available. The nearest small beach is about 40m away. Our room was comfortable with a refrigerator and kettle. Highly recommended for beginning or end of a holiday, maybe not for a fortnight.
