Montevideo

I was passing through Uruguay on my way to Brazil, and stumbled across this hidden gem. Being a English speaker with very little Spanish knowledge , it was refreshing in Montevideo to have some of the staff who could speak English. The only precaution is this hostel is quite 4:20 friendly. They staff smoke marijuana frequently as it is fully legal in Uruguay. So I do advise if you have issues with weed , perhaps don’t stay here, although there is no pressure to smoke. I met tonnes of great people , they have family style vibes and there’s  smart tv with Netflix, where I couldn’t watch some American shows. The staff also mingle quite frequently with the travelers, there’s music and there’s always someone cooking. The location is farther from downtown but is right by the beach and has all the basic necessities . If you stay here Vinny and Lee were the stronger English speakers and were greatness people, however all of the staff were amazing!

A very chill , comfortable family like hostel!!

Very clean hostel and very well equipped kitchen. You really have the feeling being at home. Only 10 min walk from the beach, very friendly staff and silent at night. Best breakfast I had during my travel in Uruguay and all this for a very honest price. I highly recommend this hostel!

Lovely hostel in a great neighborhood

I stayed three nights at this hostel during my recent short-trip to Montevideo. The hostel is actually not located anywhere near the proper city centre of Montevideo (i.e. old town), the area has its own characteristic and I found it to be very safe. The hostel is at Pocitos, a high-end area with easy access to two large shopping centre (Punta Carretes and Montevideo Shopping Centre). Rio-style sandy beach is also 10 minute walking from the hostel and I found this area to be very safe to walk along. There are many restaurants and cambio around this area as well, so you shouldn't have any problem to look for places for meals and changing money. There is many bus services running from this area to Montevideo city centre and Montevideo airport is also well-connected with bus DM11 service, which run pass the street in front of the hostel.

The hostel is a bit small, but very nice decorated and the staff were friendly during my stay. The room however, was a bit small and sometimes it feels very crowded in the hostel (kitchen and lounge especially) when the hostel was fully occupied. Breakfast served was basic, but sufficient for the start of a day.

Safe area, but a bit far from city centre

Beautiful place! With a big and nice garden, quiet and calm and the location is great! Attention is fantastic, people very warm and full of positive energy. Rooms are tidy and clean, same as bathrooms. Very friendly, I will be back for sure!

My girlfriend and I stayed here for a couple of days. Loved it. Clean facilities. Big kitchen and a barbecue spot outside. Tv-room. Nice neighborhood. The staff were very friendly and relaxed. Best hostel in three months! I've would recommend this for any kind of trip. For any kind of people.
