A beautiful place to stay next to the beach , lovely proprietors, very knowledgeable, breakfast was lovely, the suite is fabulous, beach is outside , the views are tremendous, closish proximity to landing aircraft but little noise from them, nice restaurant 200 metres in the Palm hotel called 'the view'

Superb B and B

It felt like visiting an old friend with a lovely pool and cute pets. The owner is a funny, helpful and kind man, who lets you have your space but at the same time is always willing to give advice when you ask for it. The staff was helpful and really nice aswell. We had a room with a seaview which we really enjoyed and highly recommend. The shared terrace is a place to socialize with other guests. All and all this is a calm and beautiful oasis in an otherwise bustling town.

The pearl of Le Kram

I stayed four nights at Dar El Maa.Its  right next to a very public beach.I think on weekends half of Tunis are on the beach .I had a very nice room with balcony,but at night sleep was difficult with the noise from beach and early mornings.The location is excellent and I enjoyed eating on the main streets many cafe.restaurants.Many taxis available on this main Street and banks for ATM.had difficult in getting cash from several ATM.The only one that worked for me was the. UIB.Taxis do not know where your staying so I got them to drop me at Palm Beach hotel which is 100m from Dar El MAA house.Palm hotel has the View cafe bar first floor and ground floor bar where I enjoyed the grilled chicken wings and chips.The food is not bad but no service with a smile. Two train stations are very near .le Kram station and A'aeport . train to Marine city center. enjoyed my stay at le.Kram and Dar El MAA house  except for noisy beach scene at night.

Quirky but nice

The almost perfect get-away from the hustle-and-bustle.  Oh what I would give to be able to sleep in that oh so comfortable bed tonight, LOL. Alas the place sold out before I re-booked.

1) This is NOT a fancy tourist area.  You most likely won't see another tourist beside yourself.
2) The beach is NOT the cleanest but you will have it almost to yourself.
3) Taxi drivers will NOT know where this is, but the absence of car noises is a delight.
To me, the above 3 points were actually BONUS points, but we all have our preferences when traveling ;-)

The next Metro stop is about 10 min walk away and gives easy access to downtown Tunis, Carthage, or Sidi Bou Said..

The owner, his dog, and the outdoor pool are all lovely.  So why didn't I give it 5/5 stars when all I've said sounds like 5/5 stars?

A shared bathroom is not everyone's thing (I was lucky because due to many empty rooms I was the only one using it) and it should reflect in the price.  Given the location you might say that it's already discounted, but hey, you be the judge.

Myself? I will be back at Dar el Maa as soon as the opportunity presents itself, LOL.

OH, the TRANQUIL Leisure ;-)

I was only at Dar El-màa for two days and wish it had been longer.  Your host, Laurence, is friendly, knowledgeable and accommodating.  This guest house is a haven of tranquility but also very well located for exploring Tunis, Carthage, Sidi Bou Said and other sites in the greater Tunis area.

Great hospitality, beautiful location!

It is in a very convenient location to visit all the sites in Tunis and is also a peaceful relaxing haven to return to after a day out in the bustling city. The rooms are spacious and ours had a beautiful sea view. I stayed there with my parents (70) who really enjoyed an authentic visit of the city from the inside, the peaceful and beautifully decorated guesthouse and the warm hospitality ....thanks Laurence!

A beautiful house and a great stay!

Dar el Maa is in the district Le Kram, right on the beach, close to railway station and shops. Le Kram is relaxed and interesting, a great place to wander - walking distance to some of the ancient Carthage sites, short train trip for the rest, and for Sidi Bou Said; and about 20 minutes by train to central Tunis.  Dar el Maa worked perfectly for a group of friends - rooms are very comfortable, two big bathrooms shared between four rooms.  Guest have full use of a living room and terrace overlooking the seas - a lovely place to eat breakfast, drink tea, sit and chat.  Breakfast was generous: heaps of bread, croissants, homemade jam, fruit and coffee.  Laurence and Patrice are perfect hosts, happy to share local knowledge, very helpful in making arrangements and suggesting places to go.  It is the sort of place I would love to settle in and stay a week.  Next time!

This house in a popular district of tunisia, just next to famous places as Carthage, Sidi Bou Said, La Goulette and Tunis is a great stay to take a rest and visit Tunisia from the inside !
