Staff is trying their best. It is not their fault the suits are in bad condition, and the food is terrible.

Friends and I stayed at this property on and off starting Dec 25th-March 10th. Pros: loved the open/big spaces of the rooms, it's clean for the price you pay, breakfast included, hot running water, close to lots of shops, restaurants and all.  Cons; The spa was out of service, I was not a fan of the breakfast, and sometimes the street across the hotel can get hectic (regardless, the hotel was quite, and peaceful). Thank you for the amazing hospitality you showed me starting from management, reception, waitress, security, to the room service staff. You were like a family. Until next time, blessings!

Overall, the staff was great. It is important to note the helpfulness, diligence and professionalism of many of the hotel staff from housekeepers to waiters (example - Meseret Bellete) to concierge (example - Workneh Abay). Nevertheless,the hotel needs to improve in several key ways.A. Inconsistencies between Room Service Prices Advertised vs Actual Hotel ExpectationThe room service menus  located in the room were not updated, so when guests order room service, they are charged a lot more that what the prices were on the menu. B. Guest Room BathroomsThe bathrooms needed a deeper clean and needed to be in better working condition. The drain in the bathroom smelled very bad, shower doors were broken or missing all together, and the shower grouting has molds. C. Guest Room BedsThe mattress was not comfortable at all. What the hotel calls a mattress was actually the box spring. The hotel claimed some guests like to sleep on a hard wood and metal coils. Nevertheless, we changed rooms due to this.D. Area Sounds of Hotel LocationThe area where the hotel is located is accessible but very busy and noisy with loud music all night long especially during the weekend. It was very hard to have a good night rest. In conclusion, the staff was very nice; however the hotel management needs to do better in keeping the rooms in better repair and providing better communication regarding billing.

I came here with my family of 4 (my parents and my two siblings) and we stayed in two tiny rooms. When we arrived there was no reception staff and then the room had no bedding, it was dirty, shower had yellow stuff in it, no towels were provided, only one plug was working (for 5 ppl), internet doesn’t work AT ALL and it smells of cigarettes. Absolutely terrible. I travel low cost, sometimes for work as I work online and sometimes have to travel. I’ve stayed at some pretty bad places in the past but this one was BY FAR the worst. I don’t recommend you book! DISGUSTING

WORST HOTEL IVE EVER STAYED AT!

Base Ethiopia Int. Hotel made my trip to Ethiopia a memorable one.Good breakfast, the rooms were clean, the facilities were good & the staff were amazing. Ms. Yodit was exceptionally helpful (booking, transport from the airport etc..)I recommend you to stay here for your next trip to Addis Ababa, Ethiopia.

A good place to stay

I recently had a stay in this hotel for 3 weeks and I must admit the stay was excellent. The hotel is so calm and clean.The service I received was commendable and remarkable. The people was so friendly and professionals! Your hotel has a very friendly and comfortable vibe for a perfect stay. Except one thing the sound of traffic at nights a little noisy especially in weekends.I would surely recommend your service to my friends and colleagues.Thanking you once again! Ermias Maru

Hotel looks OK from the outside, wifi worked well in my room. Food was terrible, couldn't even manage two spoons, bed isn't only hard, but linen isn't clean. It looked like someone just tucked the sheets but didn't bother changing or even pulling them to give an impression that they are clean and fresh, nope, none of that. My had stains and the pillow had folds from the last person who used it, meaning the pillow case wasn't changed either. If you're on Ethiopian Airlines, you don't have many choices, but if you're paying, don't choose this place. Bed is as hard as airport benches. 

Bad bad bad but warm staff

Without sounding ungrateful(because I know some people spend the evening on the airport benches while connecting),i have to say this is the worst hotel I've resided in all my connecting flights. No hot water(reception says sometimes it works,sometimes it doesn't - am sure he meant the geyser),and it's cold here this time of the year.After a long,tiring flight,i was disappointed to hear this.My bedding didn't smell fresh at all! Towels also not very clean and without exergerating,mine had holes on it.WIFI hit and miss in the room.I got to the restaurant this morning for breakfast and get told there's no milk. Like really! These should be basics IMO.Restaurant staff are friendly,but I hope I don't have to come again to this hotel again.

Transit hotel (Ethiopian Airlines)

It has a reasonable price and great hospitality, but it must be very careful when you leave the hotel because the area is very bad Hustel’s with unexpected tiffs around the hotel bar was very nice with a great atmosphere, it is a good hotel.
