I visit NYC frequently and always stay at Marriott properties. This was my first visit to this property, I wasn't sure what to expect as I usually stay a bit more uptown but the price was right and the reviews I read were positive so I decided to give it a try. I was really happy with my stay here. The rooms were clean and comfortable and every staff member I encountered was helpful and pleasant. I especially liked the room downstairs off the lobby with tables and chairs. I didn't purchase food here but my friend and I came back to the hotel with salads we had bought for takeout elsewhere and this was a nice spot to sit and eat. Being a Bonvoy Gold Elite member I requested a late checkout and that request was accomodated with no problem, I was also very happy that arriving well before the stated check in time they had a room ready and I was able to access it upon arrival. The only downside to this property is the fact that walking from the corner of 8th to the hotel is a little sketchy (but I knew that going in being very familiar with the area), I just walked quickly and ignored to the people hanging out here. I would definitely stay here again and recommend this property.
