The cottage is located in the middle of a luxurious nature close to a nice river. It was comfortable, clean and very functional. It was our fourth fourth time in Dominica andwe didn’t know this area but we were surprised to discover nice beaches such  as like Pointe Baptiste Beach.
Cameron and his brother were so available and nice with us and the kids! They always had the time to explain what’s best to watch and to eat in the area. 
Our 5 and 8-year-olds spent so much time playing in the river, jumping from rock to rock, rafting, trying to catch small fishes. Cameron introduced them to Lacrosse, a game we don’t play in Martinique, he lent us a rubber ring, balls, everything they needed to keep busy. 
Coffee River Cottage is definitively worth it if you want some peace and quiet. Our kids loved staying there and enjoyed the north of the island too.

Great relaxing place

I decided to book here my last night on Dominica while visiting family as it is next to the DOM airport and I had an early morning flight. If you are driving and lack confidence or do not have an SUV this might be a challenge. The owners will bend over backwards to get you in and out. I am a seasoned travel agent and this was by far the friendliest welcome I can recall anywhere. It was late Christmas day I was tired and hungry. Owner Cam poured me some wine...and whipped me up a really tasty chicken rice and salad...seemed effortless to him. The accommodation is a haven to be sure. They need a ceiling or portable fan to offer us northerners though. Make sure you ask them to put their dogs away at night or they bark frivolous under your window while sleeping. I will be back!

The Real Thing

Coffee River Cottages has a stunning setting with a delightful cooling river to swim in. The 4 acres of grounds have some fabulous plants and fruit trees and flowers. The drive in is adventurous and needs a 4 wheel drive but it is also o my 10 .ins from the airport so a great last night place to stay.

Walking from the airport to the place where you're going to stay is one of the things I love while travelling. Of course you can get a taxi a and drive up to the Coffeeriver Cottages which should take you like 10 minutes max but it's not that often that you have such a great cottage in the middle of a beautiful garden and next to a refreshing river within a 45 minute walking distance from an airport. While walking you're in the middle of the forest passing by some houses with enthusiastic locals greeting you and pointing out the right direction (although the signs for the Coffeeriver Cottages are placed on the perfect spots).  

After arrival Sandra (the owner) offered a very welcome beer and took the time to chat about her life and the place. Such a great welcome. She also arranged a taxi for the onwards journey to Roseau so hospitality galore! If you don't feel cooking and did not rent a car you can easily walk to Last Flight bar and grill located next to the beach and airport (same 45 min walk). The chicken wings were great!

This charming place is situated next to a river fairly close to the Douglas Charles airport and Marigot. There are a few options for accommodation; we opted for the cottage, which turned out to be a wonderful little house, capable of housing 4 people on a loft. It has the basic necessities for your stay: gas stove, fridge, pots and pans, cutlery, and china, although keep in mind you make your own food. 

The grounds is very peaceful and well-kept, with the river as a place to if not swim then at least cool down. The proprietor, Sandra, is very kind and will assist in any way she can. Keep in mind that the roads leading to the Coffeeriver Cottages--as goes for the entire island, almost--are not the best and can be affected by the weather. A 4WD car is strongly recommended!

Wonderfully situated cottage

I spent 2 incredible days at the Coffe River Inn. Slept like a baby!
What a beautiful property, well maintained and in the middle of nature.
The river beats any swimming pool, the scenery is incredible. I saw 2 parrots during my stay at Coffee River, a Jaco parrot munched on fruit before my eyes.
This place is so close to the airport, it's practical when one has an early flight out.
The Innkeepers are awesome, super friendly and helpful in answering any questions I had about Dominica. I recommend staying there, I wish I could have stayed longer.

An memorable stay

The most amazing nature experience ever! And no need to worry that Dominica has still not restored power to all the island. This place has it all. Solar powered electricity, gas stove, running fresh water, and nature. We stayed 5 nights, would have been 6 except Seaborne canceled our flight and only option was to fly back one day early. Sandra and Stephen were so nice and helpful. When our car rental had been canceled with Avis after the hurricane, Sandra called her friend Lynn at Bonus and she called all over the island and hand delivered us a vehicle the next day! Then Sandra went over the map with us to let us know what was open and what was the best beach, waterfall and hikes. All the people we met on the island were so nice from our taxi driver Angus to the many small shop owners. We especially enjoyed the fresh clear air, frog sounds and bright, bright stars at night. The only thing I would change for next time is to bring some river walking shoes. I would have loved to explore the river that runs through their back yard all the way up to the volcanic Morne Diablotins.

Off the grid

Stephen came and met me at the airport which is a short distance from the airport. As it is a rural location and self catering you do need to get your food first. It is amazing that they were not affected by the hurricane whereas there is massive destruction on the island. The property is an oasis of peace situated in its natural environment. Stephen and Sandra were wonderful hosts. Do be aware that you will need your own transportation due to the remoteness of the property.
