Stayed in the lovely hotel for about a week when attending the graduation ceremony and a course in July. 

Was first impressed by Fabien, the reception staff who greeted me with my name at 1am when I checked in at the hotel after an unexpected travel delay. 

Everything was perfect ---room service, breakfast, spotless clean room, environment etc.
Sleep quality was very good and had  restful nights.
Perfect location for visit to INSEAD. And the castle is within walking distance.
Highly recommend!

Excellent service, kind staff and comfortable stay

Stayed at the Clos St Merry while attending a short course at Insead.  The accomodation was superb tastefully decorated rooms, spacious with a great bathroom.  One thing I always appreciate in hotels is having USB ports (travel adapters can be a hassle).  It’s a 5 minute walk to town centre, pretty quiet at this time of the year but a nice selection of restaurants and bars - I didn’t try the Karaoke bar but apparently its fun.!
Staff were exceptionally helpful, it is very safe accomodation.  Beware there is Uber but limited availability. I caught the train from Paris main station and then Uber to the hotel, nice way to travel.  From CDG airport it is approx euro 180.

Study Bliss

Stayed here for 3 nights to attend company organised leadership training that was taught by INSEAD. The room I was given certainly exceeded my expectation. Well designed, modern minimalist, well thought out functionality and very clean! 
The self service laundry room with laundry powder and basket was a really good touch!
Breakfast was basic and adequate for a hotel this standard.
Well kept hotel with friend staff managing it!

Beyond expectation

The hotel offer very good, clean completely refurbished rooms, quiet and very comfortable. In fact the surroundings are very quiet. They also have a very nice place outside for breakfast/dinner close to the garden (if weather allow it). Meals offer is simple but tasty and the service is fast. Staff is absolutely great and willing to help.

Excellent experience

This is operated by INSEAD, the neighbouring business school (the best business school in the world, apparently).  It does have a slightly institutional feel to it; if you're looking for charm and boutiquiness you'll be disappointed!  The location is good for INSEAD, slightly offcentre if you're walking into Fontainbleau (10 minutes walk to the chateau and town centre), easy access to the main road network.

But it works.  Plenty of secure car parking, moderately efficient checkin and quick checkout, blisteringly fast and reliable free wifi, good size room with plenty of workspace including a built-in international power adaptor, big bathroom (bath tub), separate ensuite toilet, tea/coffee making in the room... and everything worked.

The check-in was friendly and only slightly marred by the clerk encoding our room keys for one night when we had a two-night stay, but that was an easy fix.

It was one of the cheaper hotels we stayed in during our trip to France and hence was excellent value.

Clos St Merry is owned and run by Insead, its world class quality also run in its hotels/residences.Super clean rooms and bathrooms, helpful staffs that speak excellent English.Hearty and healthy breakfast.Location is walking distance to the city Centre, Fontainebleau Chateau and to Insead campus.

5 star service for a fraction of the cost

I was in Fontainebleau for a conference at INSEAD.  While this hotel belongs to INSEAD, and is called a "residence," it is a very comfortable modern hotel.  The room is modern and parking is very easy in the hotel's parking lot.  In fact, the hotel is set in a small park.  It is a very easy 10 minute walk to the INSEAD campus and about 15 minutes to the center of town with the chateau and restaurants.  The breakfast is very nice and staff - both reception and cleaning - are very nice and hospitable.  The hotel really exceeded expectations and I will definitely stay there in the future.
