As a large extended family of 20, with ages ranging from 8 to 80, it was always going to be a challenge to find somewhere that would appeal to everyone. However Chateau Monteil had it all: beautiful renovated chateau in quiet secluded gardens, with everything we needed, good sized pool, wonderful countryside surrounding the chateau for walks and cycling and close to the river for canoeing and kayaking, swimming etc. We were also close to the stunning old town of Sarlat and many other popular tourist areas. Most of all though it was the welcome from the hosts: Tim and Anna that made our week. They were very friendly and helpful and available at all times, if we needed help. To top it off Tim cooked our evening meal on a couple of occasions and everyone really enjoyed the local specialities he prepared for us. Thank you both and we hope to return.
