Chateau Du Doux

I'm not even sure where to start with this review, but I'll go back to the first moment we pulled up to Château du Doux back in 2022 as we were driving around the France to find our dream wedding venue. We saw the Château as we drove over the hill and it took our breath away. As we drove through the gates and up to the building I think we may have already started to get the feels and envision our wedding here but what really solidified for us was Abbie and her family. They made us feel so special and as we left we looked at each other and said the yes the venue is perfect but the most important thing was that we wanted this wonderful family to be part of our wedding weekend. The communication and catch up's we had over the next couple of years were great. Abbie gave us all the info we need to be able to go away and do everything to prepare for our wedding. They even invited us over to stay at the Château six months before the wedding, which was perfect as this really helped us with all the final bits of planning, especially room / seating plans, decorations and just starting to bring everything together in our heads. Fast forward to the actual wedding and this is where the true magic started. We arrived and the weather was being slightly temperamental but we knew this was out of our control so we just needed to put that to the side and plan for every occasion. Abbie showed us through Plan A and Plan B and honestly both were amazing. Our friends and family arrived on the Friday and everyones jaws hit the floor, people could not stop talking about how beautiful Château du Doux was. We'd chose to go with a nice home from home favourite for our Friday meal and went with the Fish & Chip van option, which was such a good choice. Everyone loved the food and the guys who ran the van were super friendly. The next day was the big day, everything about the experience was perfect. We had great breakfast selection, and Katie and her bridesmaids went off to the beautiful dressing room to get ready, whilst sipping some bubbles. Then the men went up to the uber cool library space, to get ready and have a cheers with the fine whiskey left out by Abbie and the gang. The rooms were perfect and it just showcased how much thought Abbie and the family have put into to making Château du Doux the perfect wedding venue. We can't wait to see the pictures that come back from these getting ready moments. Now to the ceremony itself, unfortunately the weather did decide to phase in and out of light showers which meant we had to move inside and go with plan B but although it wasn't exactly what we envisioned it didn't change how beautiful the wedding ceremony was. As we moved across to the meal, we started to get into the speeches which went down a storm and then food came out. The meal was outstanding, every dish looked amazing and I don't think there was a crumb left on any plate. The comments we had from our guests were amazing. Then we partied way into the night, with a beautiful firework display (which we left as a big surprise for our guests) and it rounded off our perfect day! Next day we opted for cooked sandwiches at breakfast, which was much needed and then we slowly eased ourselves into the day. We had the BBQ option, the sun had come out and day was beautiful. Our band got the energy high again and we yet again dived into another day of fun, love and laughter. We walked away from the weekend on cloud nine, the whole team at Château du Doux had helped us created our perfect wedding weekend. Everything abut the venue was phenomenal, the rooms / apartments were brilliant and all 78 people left with nothing but positive things to say and bag full of amazing memories. If anyone's considering getting married at Château du Doux, we can't even begin to recommend it enough.
