This is a very nice place to visit. Really in the Campagne. Not far from a town where you can have dinner. Superb old Chateau with good rooms and very nice hosts. The breakfast is also good. So whenever you are in the neigbourhood don't hesitate but book a room.

Exquisite Chateau Hotel

I know, I should've trusted the tripadvisor rating and previously reported problems with this establishment.
The grounds and castle are stunning but not so much the comfort.
As mentioned in the title, the owner are on the wrong side of arrogant. They make you feel that your are a guest in their home and you better so as they do. Charging £150 a night, just makes me have different expectations. They also do not do well when critiqued but that only reemphasizes that they care more about themselves then their 'guests'.

The sleep quality is poor, the breakfast was poor.

In short, they have a long way to go to make this place a special place to stay other than sleeping in a museum. 

Beautiful castle, arrogant owners

Mr and Mrs Rollo could definitely have advertised this better. With no mention of the compost toilet on any booking websites (hint hint) it was a bit annoying to have a smelly toilet in such a small space. They could have surely had a running water toilet installed along with the shower? We like to think we are ecological but compost toilets are not normally expected in an en suite so please make it clear!! 

There are three beds - two single in a mezzanine above and a small double and I mean SMALL! During the night I moved upstairs to the second single as my feet were off the end and I was squashing Mrs Greg next to me! Maybe 200 euros is reasonable for some people but I'm a bit past the age of camping now and for that kind of money I'd expect better sleeping conditions. 

Nice breakfast! Local honey, homemade jam and good bread all delivered to the treehouse in a basket. Coffee a bit watery but we had a better one in Seés later on..

Tree House not the best

OMG . When you look at the photos and arrive outside you think this looks good . Then we went in its so unkempt, everything looked like it hadn't been used or cleaned  in years .  The room which on the web page looks amazing is unbelievable, the smallest of bedside lamps. The bedding was clean which was a plus . By this time we where so disappointed. We had travelled for 8 hours so was tired and hungry . MY Oh had booked this for the look and all the food was all sourced locally . It was cold and not in temperature,  we where served a lukewarm bottle of wine . Then the main course arrived,turkey in a white wine sauce with yes this is right cinnamon, which was sprinkled all over the plate .All different veg was plonked at different angles, We don't speak much French hence why we never said anything while we stayed .When we went for breakfast the next day which was the same as the evening meal inedible but the coffee was hot . There was lovely bigger and brighter bedrooms unoccupied . The meal cost us £35.00 per person and the room was £85.00.Such a shame because in the right hands this would be an amazing place to stay .

Needs a lot of TLC

I have learnt the hard way that staying in a chateau can be hit and miss.  This was a horrid experience. We were their only guests, and were put into a room at the back of the house that was small, dark, meanly furnished with no sense of welcome or comfort, perhaps because we brought a dog, I don’t know, but there were some large, sun filled rooms at the front of the house that whilst dated, were 150% nicer than the one we were allocated.  

The bed was tiny, hard and way too short for my 6’ 1” fiancè , and on a cold autumn night with only a sheet and a thin blanket, on top of a very hard mattress, we hardly slept at all. No frills in the bathroom either, we survived an uncomfortable night, only to have an equally ordinary breakfast in one of the most depressing dining rooms ever. Dated decor, dusty, a simple continental breakfast that was ordinary in the extreme.  The owner was polite and willing, but clueless, without any warmth and it seemed to us that the business is on its absolute last legs.  Some starving kittens outside the house hissed and fought over the dry food we happened to have in the car, as they were so starving - very off putting to guests with any love for animals.  We couldn’t get away fast enough, it was just horrid.
