Château de Crocq - Chambres d'Hôtes de Charme

My wife and I travel to the Haut Pyrenees every year and use the D roads rather than the Autoways. This year our route brought us to the village of Crocq where we had booked to stay for one night. The Chateau is located on the main road through the village and has a rather sombre frontage but it is what that is inside which matters. We were greeted warmly by co-proprietor, Mary, and as we were taken to our room on the first floor it was clear that this is an ancient building but it has been lovingly adapted to modernity for the essentials and the character of the place has been lovingly preserved. Our room was large, the bed was very comfortable and the en suite bathroom had a very modern walk-in shower with all that you could expect in a modern hotel. The Chateau provides a B & B service and breakfast in the dining room was the best we had during our three weeks in France. The photo on the Chateau website is of the rear of the property where there is more than ample parking plus a wonderful vista over the adjoining countryside.
