Chambre d'hôtes La Forestière

My sister and I stayed here over her 50:th birthday. It is such a charming place. Gourmet breakfasts, possibility to have really tasty dinners in the company of hosts and other guests. We really loved La Forestiere - it is perfect for exploring the beautiful Alsace region. Romantic, tranquil, friendly...

This property offers not only a unique Chambre d'Hôtes but also a unique Table d'Hôtes! Owners Catherine en Éric Marchal take care of everything and join their guests at their table. Their hospitality is endless and together with the other very friendly, talkative and interesting guest we had a truly wonderful evening. Room was very comfortable (with private terrace). 
Éric is a poulterer and both Éric and Catherine are very capable cooks, so very tasteful local game dishes and regional (Alsace) dishes are being served. No need to mention the great Alsace wines that accompany the dishes... 
Breakfast is great too, with homemade venison-ham and jams

We stayed for three nights at La Forestiere.  What a wonderful experience!  La Forestiere is located in the Vosges, in a lovely little town.  Around you are the mountains and the forests, with walking trails and beautiful views.  It's an easy drive down to the Alsace wine route, and to Strasbourg and Colmar.  We went on a hike right near town, and saw wild boar -- very cool!  Our room (a family room for four people) was very clean and comfortable, and the breakfast excellent and extensive.  Catherine gave us great advice about things to do and lent us maps and other material.  Our visit was too short, and we would love to come back and stay again.

It is the third time that we stayed at the Forestière Chambres d'Hôtes in Alsace and, this October 2014, we stayed for three days: a pure delight. The property and its owners-hosts, Catherine and Eric, are just what you can dream of. Comfort, quality, taste, space and peace in the bedrooms. Warmth, intelligence, excellent conversations, meals and wines at the Table d'hôte where it is always a delight to converse with the hosts or the other guests. The region is superb for walking, wines tasting and buying and tourism in general. We are returning in October 2015.

We stayed 5 nights in Sept 2014.  This B&B is set in the foothills of the Vosges mountains, in a peaceful location amongst sub alpine pastures, grazed by Vosgien cattle.  Great welcome, soon sat down outside with a drink.  The highlights were the evening meals prepared so well and seemingly effortlessly by Catherine.  She and her husband Eric would sit down and join in with the guests at the table.  We feasted on local Alsatian dishes majoring on Eric's wild boar and venison, all washed down with local wines included with the meal.  Breakfasts were also substantial with plenty of choice.  The room was precisely as shown on the website, clean and with a very comfortable bed.
We will most certainly return to this little gem!
