A very convenient hotel for short stays on a budget, rate is consistent, room was comfortable, excellent shower with good pressure and temperature,  good bed and  fine breakfast (a la carte options) with  good local  food and good bread. While  the place may not  be fancy or instagramable, it's still  a  good hotel for sleeping at a relatively low price, so it makes it the perfect option  in  the  area.

Excellent on a budget

just been to center point for 2 nights. let's start with the positive points:
- staff is very polite and allowed me to check out at 1pm
- if u arrive to vientiane by nok air (fly and ride) it's the best choice as the van stops 50 meters from the hotel (and this is the reason why i chose center point this time, instead of mercure or ibis as i usually do.
- the rooms are very big (but with basic only furniture)

now the negative ones...:
- i thought this hotel was brand new but it is (or looks like) very outdated.
- the last morning there was a black out, including water... means that i couldn't take a shower and i had to travel smelling very bad (i was clubbing until late the previous night and i smell of smoke). the strange thing is that on the ground floor the water was normally running...
- shower temperature is a disaster. it changes from very cold to very hot (and opposite) within 5 seconds and without touching it.
- room was not very clean
- staff polite but need to improve the english skills
- wifi not very good (not strong enough to watch iptv)
- minibar totally empty and (as i understood) no restaurant in the hotel

conclusions:
- if it is a brand new hotel this is absolutely a disaster. if it has been built 20 years ago, than i can understand some bad things that i listed.
for the same price (or maybe 10 USD more) i fully recomment ibis, which is also 3 stars but VERY modern and located in the most central area of vientiane.

The hotel is located in a busy section of town.If you're taking an airport shuttle from the airport, the stop is A3 Wind West Restaurant. Cross the road at the nearest junction and walk towards a road lined with shops and restaurants.

The staff was friendly and helpful. They speak English. Our room was spacious with a large bathroom. Clean and comfortable bed. Wifi was strong. However the windows face a road junction. If you are a light sleeper, the noise from passing vehicles might keep you awake. 

We had a small issue with the water heater. We looked for it and found it under the sink! We couldn't turn it on but with the help of the staff, it was rectified. The temperature of the water was inconsistent. 

Breakfast was provided from 7.00 am to 10.00 am. It was a buffet breakfast. Though the selection was small, it was adequate. The food served was basically the same. We liked their hot rice porridge. 

It is close to many places of interest e.g. night market and the museum. Around the corner, there is fairly large supermarket, Home Ideal, with quite a wide range of goods. We ate at a small Indian restaurant, Roti House. We liked their Kothu Prata and chicken vindaloo. 

This hotel gets my recommendation because of its clean rooms, good location, friendly staff and a hearty breakfast.

Good Enough

Checked in to this hotel today and I was astounded at how different it looks to the pics. This hotel is extremely dated and the term basic would be an understatement. Every time we opened the sink tap, the bathroom absolutely stank! The bathroom is very old and very dirty. The water in the shower is lukewarm and does not get hot. 
The room could do with a good clean as there’s loads of dust around. 
I walked on the tiles barefoot after coming out the shower and felt as though I needed to have a 2nd shower because the tiles feel dirty and sticky. 
I am extremely disappointed at having made such a poor choice and even more so at the hotel for being mislead! 
Even though I booked this hotel for 3 nights, I will be checking out tomorrow and losing the money I paid!! 
It’s my mum’s birthday trip and I wanted everything to be perfect - this hotel is a far cry from perfect. 
Going by the other posts I’ve read, breakfast is certainly not something to look forward to either. 
I would strongly advise you to avoid this hotel!!! 



Avoid Avoid Avoid!!!! 

Not sure what the word 'boutique' means in Lao, but it definitely isn't the same as English. This is a well located, new, friendly, comfortable property - and cheap! - but it isn't boutique!

Right in the heart of the old town, the hotel is on a busy junction, but is surprisingly quiet despite the traffic. It's only a fixed rate Kip57,0000 from the airport, which is about $USD7.00. The hotel has a large, cool lobby, which doubles as the breakfast area. The staff are welcoming and very friendly and will arrange tours and bus transfers to other parts of Laos, for no surcharge. 

The rooms are large, but basic. There's excellent aircon, comfortable beds, clean sheets, a fridge, tea, coffee, kettle and international TV with many news channels. WIFI is free and very reliable. There's a large desk/table and good closet space.

The bathrooms are very large. Unnecessarily so. The shower has very good water pressure, but the temperature is a bit dodgy. Warm is probably the best you'll get, which is weird, because the basin can pour out scalding hot water. The towels aren't very new & could do with replacing, but they're clean. Good amenities are provided and replenished every day.

Breakfast isn't much or particularly appetizing, but it fills a gap. They serve fried and boiled eggs, rubber ham, odd bacon and frankfurters, but they're not kept warm at all. So unless you're there the moment they come out, it's all cold and rather congealed in fat. Toast is the only hot item. There's also a bit of fruit, corn flakes and Asian porridge, plus instant coffee and watered juice. For the rates, the breakfast just about passes the charge.

All in all, this is a very good option for central Vientiane and the low rates are certainly attractive. Just don't expect a boutique experience.

Nice, friendly, basic stay

We stayed in the Center Point Hotel for two nights at the end of our Lao trip to visit Vientiane.

The location is pretty good - close, but not too close to the night market area, but in walking distance to all important places for tourists. We had a pretty large room with a comfy bed. Bathroom was spacious and clean, WiFi worked, safe in the room is available. The staff was friendly and the hotel overall gives a very solid impression. Quite new, well-maintained. You can hear the noise from the street, but it´s ok, not too noisey during the night.
Only disappointment was the breakfast. You take it in the lobby in a very cold atmosphere - feels a little bit like a train station. Breakfast choices are quite basic (egg, sausage, ham, oatmeal) and coffee is just instant coffee and no brewed one - a no go from our perspective in a "boutique hotel".

However, breakfast was ok-ish and besides that we didn't have any complaints -> recommendation.
