I had the opportunity to stay here as I was let down badly by an apartment complex in Sirmione on a major booking site. I had booked and paid for 5 but the accommodation voucher only stated 4 and when I finally got through to someone, no one could help.My only recourse was to book another apartment at 1500 plus the various charges and deposits which was a money racket. I received a no questions refund on my credit card but six weeks before we were due to go I had no accommodation. All the major places were booked up and there was simply nothing in our budget. We saw camping Trevisago on a booking website and saw that it came within our budget. I was apprehensive so I rang the receptionist Edy and spoke with her. She is the daughter of the owner and manages all aspects of the campsite and runs it in a very efficient way. In fact she couldn't do enough for us, giving us a late check out and helping us with all aspects of our stay. Did I mention she also helped me with my groceries from the shop one day! We couldn't believe our luck There are very few Irish and English here and the clients are mainly Italians from Brescia and MIlan. Quite a few German, Dutch and Swiss. It is quiet at night and Edy travels around on her golf buggy checking regularly. The pools are clean and there are plenty of sunbeds. It closes at 12.30 to 2.30. The cabins are basic but clean and functional. You bring towels with you and the bedding is provided. We had a lovely private dining area over looking the pool and play area which was lovely and relaxing. This meant that we could easily have a glass of amaretto watching our children on the swings. There is no mini-club or activities which means that this is a very relaxed and quiet place. There is an onsite restaurant and bar which is basic but fine and at the weekend a pizza chef comes and makes amazing pizzas! Locally there is a supermarket 10 mins, church 15 mins and beach 25 mins by foot. There is a market on Mondays. There is also a nice winery 10 mins to buy the local wine Lugana. In hindsight we really should have booked a car to see all the other sights. The bus service at this end of the lake is a disgrace and the timetables are hard to read. All in all, probably our best holiday in a long time. I would have no problems recommending Trevisago to anyone and I would love to come back again! A big thank you to Edy !
