Cafe Tissardmine

I had the pleasure of spending a month at Cafe Tissardmine, on a creative retreat. Karen and Yousef have created a truly special place, where you can find peace, tranquility and creative awakening, all in one. The accommodation is lovely. Rooms are well-appointed and so are the fabulous Berber tents, where I stayed comfortably during my visit. There are even beds on the roof of the riad, where guests can sleep under a display of a million stars. Cafe Tissardmine supports employment of local people and they produced wonderful food during my time there. All locally sourced and made with loving care. If it's the Hilton you're looking for, you're not going to get it (thankfully!), but what has been created there is truly special. Karen even encourages local children and families to develop their handicraft skills and develop their own little marketplace for people who stay at Tissardmine. This shows a true commitment to the local community and it is clear that Karen holds this village and its people close to her heart. She is a special person, doing special things in this special place. I loved my time there and would return tomorrow if I could. I strongly recommend this place, as a true, loving insight into Berber life and desert living. Thank you!
