Very much enjoyed our first visit to Keswick staying here. Perfectly located for the town and lake, the room was very clean and had a comfortable bed with lots of soft pillows. Everything was top notch with a friendly owner who is keen to please

Booked at short notice for an o we might with wife and dog. Room 2 was great with big bay window directly above the cafe entrance. Beds were comfy, fresh white linen, good pillows, fluffy towels. Shower was cosy and the water pressure was adequate. Overall very clean and as bar was closed, the lack of reception or traditional checkout was a refreshing change. Recieved a call on the evening of our stay to check if everything was ok and the young lady at the other end of the phone was friendly and genuine.
Overall, we were impressed with the simplicity and we couldn't have asked for anything more. Lots of places in Keswick for a good breakfast and it's an opportunity to spread the love to other local businesses. We've stayed in quite  a few of the more established Keswick hotels and twenty six rates high in my book for it's simplicity. I honestly can't comment on the noise of the bar below as we stayed on a Tuesday night and it was closing time when we got back to our room, having been to a handful of local pubs. 

Went for a drink with my daughter and sister/brother in law as we have done for the past 2 years. However, this year the service was exceptional. The lady behind the bar was so welcoming and accommodating. I enjoyed a lovely glass of wine and my daughter had a cloudy lemonade which she was allowed to pick herself from behind the bar. The lady made it all the more memorable for my daughter by bringing her this .. strange I know but my daughter's favourite snack is pickled gherkins. Such attention to detail and friendliness made this visit so special for us ... thank you x

We stopped for 1 Night with our dog. Room was very clean and good size for the 3 of us. Location perfect for Keswick and easy parking behind the hotel. Bar down stairs was dog friendly and very cosy. We would definitely stop her again Thank you for a lovely stay.

The room was very clean with contemporary decoration that fit in with the surroundings. The TV in the room had Netflix and the bed was very comfortable and we both got a good nights sleep. It also had easy access to car park and town centre. Would definitely stay again. Really enjoyed our weekend.

Perfectly adequate.  Nice clean rooms in central Keswick.  Check-in/check-out procedure very efficient (if a little impersonal as you never see anyone).  We had no problems with noise until the morning when the recycling bins outside were emptied.  Although we only paid £60, that's room-only so it's not the greatest value for money.  But given that they had availability at very short-notice in peak season, no real complaints overall.

Weekend in Keswick

Decent place in a superb location.

The positives are limited - primarily the location within Keswick which is really good: close to the centre of town and very handy for the lake.

We stayed two nights in room 4 (the actual room is important) in August 2020.

The room had very limited storage for belongings. The large wardrobe was split - one half for housekeeping stuff and the other half locked. So, most things stayed in bags around the floor.

The shower was barely more than a trickle at the setting recommended which was the only way to get water at the right temperature. I'm all for avoiding waste of fuel, raw materials and water but the shower was completely inadequate.

While the room appeared to have been decorated within a few years its appearance was untidy (lot's of unfilled holes  in the walls). Positively the bed and linen were very comfortable and the room clean.

Now where the specific room number is important... This room looks out over a passageway with a garage. Night 1, 3.30 a.m. we're woken by a loud mechanical racket (sounded like roller doors opening/closing). Windows were open because it was warm. Night 2, 3.30 a.m. same story.  After about 15-20 minutes of intermittent noise and some conversations the noise vanished again. Peace restored. Coincidence/very bad luck or like that every day? Who knows?

The rooms are supposed to be dog friendly. In my opinion you'd be fine with a small lapdog but our dog is mid-sized and there was barely enough room to position a dog bed on the floor and be able to walk around the bed past the dog.

Managed to park on single yellow just the other side of the main road at the closest end of the Heads - unrestricted between 16.00 and 10.00 overnight. Tricky getting space in the unrestricted parking further along The Heads but the paying car park is also very convenient.

Surprisingly payment wasn't taken until a few days after the stay and we were overcharged because of an administrative error. I rang and was given an immediate refund for the error with good grace and no aggro.

Commercial garage next door opens at 3.30 a.m. (very noisily)

A great location but a great weekend spoilt by £60 taken from my credit card without authorisation. I spilt a cup of tea on a sheet, no staff on site to report it to or help. Would not expect to pay £60 for laundering a sheet. The room was small and it is quite noisy. Shower really poor. 

Beware..75% of the room cost charged to my credit card for a split cup of tea

Booked a one night stay at Cafe Bar 26.  Self service check in, the bar downstairs didnt seem to want to get involved or help.  We reserved Room 4.  Initial impression was it was clean and tidy. Spacious. On returning to the room after the afternoon out in Keswick the room was really cool.  The radiator in the far corner was warm but it wasn't strong enough to heat the room.  The bathroom was cold and the radiator was off with no controls available to turn it on.  We had to huddle under the duvet to stay warm. Not a comfortable stay at all.  Had initially thought it would be a good option to return to in future but after that stay, we wont be back.  No option to contact anyone to raise queries, as booking information contained only an email! Not good service at all.  Very disappointing - Stay well clear of this accommodation.
