By The Park Bed and Breakfast

Our first trip to Toronto and we cold not have asked for a nicer place to stay than By the Park Bed and Breakfast. Margo and Ziggy, our hosts, were so generous with their time and advice which helped make our stay in Toronto a memorable one. We stayed twice, either side of a trip to Montreal, and both bedrooms and bathrooms were first class, beautifully appointed and extremely comfortable. If you are travelling to Toronto and do not want to stay 'downtown' this is an ideal location with easy access to the subway and airport via public transport. If we visit again we will certainly want to stay here.

Another comfortable stay in a beautiful home. Margo and Ziggy are superlative hosts. The room is well appointed, exceptionally clean and comfortable. Breakfast is always top notch... french toast is a particular favourite of mine. Also coffee is bottomless.

We have stayed at By The Park four times now, and have tried out all three rooms. We were fully comfortable in all of them, though spoiled lavishly by The Loft. Margo and Ziggy are so friendly and accommodating and ready with helpful advice. UP Train connections to and from Pearson Airport via Bloor Station are less than a ten-minute walk away. Subway to downtown is even closer, at Keele. 

My husband and I stayed here for four nights as I was having surgery at The Toronto Western Hospital.  Margo and Ziggy were wonderful hosts, friendly and compassionate, and the room we stayed in was comfortable and suited our needs perfectly.  They have a driveway for parking, and when switching of cars was needed, they did it themselves, which saved us much stress.  We highly recommend By the Park Bed and Breakfast!

This is so much more than a bed and breakfast.....it is wonderful experience! A stately home with lovely antique furnishings and original art.
The 2nd floor suite was super spacious, again beautifully decorated, comfortable  and immaculate. A wall of windows opens onto the garden. The four poster bed is very comfortable and we appreciated that!. The marble bathroom was beautiful. Note that the bathroom for this room is not actually an ensuite bath but was just a bit outside the door and was still a private bathroom not shared. Breakfast was yummy, healthy and made to order!  Well located for us near High Park we were in town for a family wedding and needed to be close  to downtown but also near the west end of Toronto. We were happy to leave our vehicle, no need for that as the neighbourhood is very walkable and well connected by public transit. We did enjoy a morning walk through the park before the big day. A fresh Fall morning. Our hosts were the best of the best, friendly and kind people. Oh yeah ....neatest little doggie ever! Highly recommended.

Fabulous stay - comfy room (with an excellent shower!), delicious breakfasts and a great location for access both to downtown and the airport. Also right next to High Park which is worth exploring in its own right. Will definitely be back!

My husband & I attended an evening  concert in Toronto on Aug. 29th.  & booked By The Park for our overnight stay. The house and gardens were lovely, our bedroom was beautifully appointed, with a modern, en-suite bathroom & the bed itself was super comfortable. Everything was spotlessly clean!  To finish on a very high note, we ate a delicious breakfast in the beautiful dinning room.
Throughout our stay our hosts, Margo & Ziggy Rygier were welcoming & gracious. We look forward to returning to By The Park and will certainly recommend it to our friends.

Margo and Ziggy were  incredible hosts. So helpful. Such amazing conversationalists. Their home is clean, cozy and rich with visual art Ziggy has painted. They gave us Excellent recommendations for restaurants and walks nearby. High Park is a 5 minute walk away and the neighbourhood is mature, safe and has beautiful old homes. We parked our car when we arrived (on the street with free parking) earlier in the day, walked to the TTC subway station and took it downtown to watch a Blue Jays game. Did the same when we returned and moved the car from the street to their driveway for the night. Easy check-in. The Room was stunning as was the huge, private bathroom. Wish we stayed longer; forget staying in a hotel!  We requested a small breakfast (egg, toast, potatoes and coffee) and it was perfect. We will return. 

We thoroughly enjoyed our time at the By the Park Bed and Breakfast! The location is super convenient-- on a quiet street with lovely treed and landscaped homes-- just a stone's throw away from High Park and a couple of minutes walk to Keele subway station. The B&B is beautiful and spotless. We loved our large, airy, quiet and peaceful room, with a super comfortable king-sized bed (with luxurious bedding), and a spacious and elegant bathroom.  Margot and Ziggy were gracious hosts and very accommodating.  When we had to leave early on the second day of our stay, too early for the scheduled breakfast time, Margot kindly made us breakfast sandwiches for us to take with us, for  our road trip! We will highly recommend this as a wonderful place to stay while in Toronto.

This is 3rd time we've used By The Park to host our guests from out of town.  Everyone has always said how beautiful the house, room and landscaping is.  Margo & Ziggy are always friendly and helpful.  We're going to continue using and recommending this place.  Thanks Margo & Ziggy

Wonderful Bed and Breakfast

By the Park handy and accommodating

A very charming place with some antique furniture and excellent artwork.  Good breakfast. Not far from subway and High Park.  Hosts were friendly and interesting, sharing with us some of their stories about the art scene .  Plus: long-handled shoe horn at entrance.  Minus: our bed was so  high I had trouble getting in, although apparently a step stool is available.

Excellent accommodation! Location ideal for accessing public transport and Margot was superb in providing assistance with directions. Very much appreciated the early check-in and breakfast chats with Ziggy. Entire home is beautifully appointed and rooms are simply lovely. I did find the low lighting on main and second floors a tad challenging and might also suggest that a chair/bench be placed near the front entrance to allow for easier shoe removal (no outside shoes allowed-but they provide slippers!) Have already recommended!

We had a lovely stay at this friendly B&B in the High Park area of Toronto. The location is super convenient as it is just a few minutes walk from Keele station to the city or 10 minutes from Bloor which is on the UP express line to the airport or city. We stayed at 92 Indian Grove; the room was very comfortable, wi-fi worked well, excellent en suite shower. As guests we could also use the downstairs sitting room which was handy as one of us could go and read there early in the morning without disturbing the other.

The breakfast was nice and freshly cooked; note it is vegetarian.

There is a stair gate to keep the pets downstairs; not a problem though a slight nuisance if you are carrying luggage. There is a drinks machine in the dining room which worked well though only coffee mate for whitener - with hindsight I should have bought some milk from the 7-11 round the corner and stuck it in the refrigerator! It's not a problem at breakfast as everything is provided, just for out of hours drinks.

One thing that was great for me was going out early for a run round the park, very peaceful and fun. We were also lucky to be in Toronto for "Sakura" which is when the cherry blossom is out in High Park.
