Burg Hostel

Very nice place, wonderful staff. I really enjoyed it and I strongly reccommend. It’s great for families, my kids had q lit of fun👍
The rooms are very cosy, clean and fancy and the food is excellently cooked!
The town is full of history, it is worth visiting

Burg Hostel is a classic hostel in the city center of Sighisoara. The people who work there are very sweet. The location is in the historical center of the city. The beds where nice and the room was very good. It is a very good place to go when you are in this cute city.

Great central location in the old city, it has a spacious kitchen downstairs, a large dining area, decent warm rooms and friendly staff. All in all I've no complains considering the low price and would recommend this place.

I totally loved my stay here.  The hostel is right in the middle of the citadel so you can get out and explore very easily.  I stayed in the four bed dorm room. Try and get the lower bunks if you can - double bed! nice.  the shower and lavatory was clean as was the room itself.  I am particularly grateful to Anka the very pleasant lady who works at reception. she was very kind and helped me with my onward travel. she's also very funny and good to talk to! another big plus is the fact that there is a self service cooking area which was good for me as i bought some provisions from lidl and prepared my own food. Can completely recommend this excellent hostel.

It was perfect from the beginning to the end. The people from the reception were very kind and cheerful all the time, and very helpful about everything in the city. The location is perfect, nearby a lot of cool places to visit. The bedroom was clean and very big.

I had an amazing stay at this hostel when I went for my winter vacation in Sighisoara, Romania.  The hotel was right smack at the center of everything in this quaint little town.  It very cozy, complete with a wood-fired furnace that gives the place it's charm.  But the highlight of my stay was the staff.  They were very polite and accommodating.  One of them, Paula, was a perfect host.  Her English was impeccable and she made sure it did not get bored during my long stay.  

Overall everything was perfect,  Except, I should say when there was this old drunk guy who stayed there during the same time I was there.  He was annoying and made several rants to the staff like he owns the place.  I heard he was a regular.  So if you are planning on staying in this hotel, check if this guy is there too.  Maybe you should find another place to stay in that case.

Even though we were in a hurry, the hosts were very nice and cooperative! The place itself was clean. We were on the top floor, so we also had a nice view. Quite comfortable, a lot of wooden work which I loved very much! There was a restaurant/bar downstairs and we also had dinner there. The food was good. The hostel is in a convenient place in the city so I loved that!

Good place in the old city. Really spacious dorm with very cozy beds and a bathroom en-suite, for a great price. Atmosphere is non-existent, but it's off-season, so not many people there in general; staff are all very, very pleasant but not super engaged, which was fine for me. Flawless WiFi, including in the basement. I don't know if there are any other hostels in the old city, but if you're on a budget, definitely recommend this one.

I really liked this place, to be honest. I don't know why there are people stating in previous reviews that there's no kitchen (or a communal space), as there most definitely is. Quite a big one, in the basement, with 3 rooms full of tables and chairs where people can hang out and even play table soccer or pingpong. There's also a communal space on the first floor. Then there's a restaurant on ground level where you can gave a drink or bite as well.

It's not a hostel-hostel in the sense that it's all backpackers and party, luckily it isn't. It has family rooms and double rooms as well, and also some dormitories. The female dorm was very comfortable, with a good working ensuite shower and even a view. Wifi works like a charm. I liked it that there weren't any bunk beds, but just normal beds, helps in not waking up at night. Every bed had a side table and its own reading light. Staff was very friendly. Prices are very affordable, especially considering the fantastic location (right in the citadel). 

The only 'criticism' I might have is that there are no lockers to safely store your stuff in... and even though I saw 2 ladies cleaning every morning, during the 2 days I was there the bathroom or sinks were never cleaned (toothpaste stuck in there for 2 days), neither was the kitchen (dishes cleaned by guests kept piling up, but weren't put away... neither were the tables cleaned, nor any cloths provided so guests could do that themselves).

But besides that, great accommodation. Probably the best quality for that rate in town.

Kind and Amazing

Room for hostel. Cheaper room..well. when I arrived it stunk. The bathroom needed cleaning and shower curtain smelled bad. They had cleaner come in and clean. Beds sag in middle. I was put in another room which was nice. But cleaner never came in 4days. We had to go find her to get toliet paper. Waste basket was over flowing. Kitchen are was cleaned once in my visit. My food was thrown away from fridge.  BUT..I love the little town. Hostel is in the citadel. Lovely location. Other rooms were nicer...they just didn't care to put much attention to the hostel cheaper room.  I would stay again ..because as for cheaper room they have the market and the village is so wonderful..
