My wife and I have stayed in many B@B's and Brightwater Lodge tops them all. Amazing location within walking distance to the beach and all the shops and eateries. On arrival we met Alex and Lilly who promptly help with the luggage. Our room was well appointed, the bonus being Netflix and a Bar Fridge.
The breakfast was amazing and we might add more like a full breakfast. Wi-Fi reception was excellent and so too was the ambience in the comfortable lounge. Thank you Alex and Lilly for our wonderful stay.

Excellent lodge
Great value for money.
The bar fridge in the room is a nice touch as it has snacks you can buy if you forgot yours like juices for kids and bottled water and a slab of chocolate.We came well prepared thou😁.
Alex and his help is very friendly you can just feel the vibe of the place,nice and relaxing.Alex is quite funny and show special care to all his guests.Nice breakfast,loved the touches of homemade jams,honey..quality ingredients all-round.We were at Room2..very comfy bed,big bath..Room can do with another window that can open as it can get a bit warm at times.Maybe some aircon could assist with this.Overall was a very pleasant stay.Would highly recommend Brightwater lodge,also when you do have some breakfast ask for those smoothies by name..I missed out but will be back soon😉

Easy breezy Brightwater

The service was excellent and the owner of the lodge was friendly. The location was perfect and next to restaurants. However, I recommend changing of sheets daily especially if one stays for many days. 

December vacation

Friendly host, great location and good breakfast. Rooms were clean with lovely hot water. Good value for money. Easy parking and security good. Will definitely consider staying there again. Was family friendly too. 

Brightwater Lodge is an idea location, walking distance to the beach, shops and eateries. Alex is a perfect host, with his humour and hospitability. We were there for a very short time but we loved it.

Beautiful | Breezy | Relaxed | Warm Host

Superb location; great facilities. The host was incredibly helpful and accommodating throughout our stay. I couldn't recommend this place enough. It has character and charm and everything that a person would need to have a great holiday.

A great stay

A Great Start into 2023 !

What an awesome time we had. I  love the view and the cleanliness of the guest house.  We are definitely coming back because of Alex. He is so welcoming and friendly and also advised us regarding the beautiful activities we can do.

Vacation

I chose to stay in the Brightwater Lodge for a few days in December 2022 on its very reasonable prices, and its lack of pretentiousness. It may lack the grand vistas and last word luxury of other Hout Bay B&Bs, but if, like myself, your requirements are simply having an affordable, comfortable base to operate from this is for you. Alex was super and accommodating host. For my breakfasts, I would ask him what he had available and from my selections he would rustle up a fitting repast. 
The lodge is situated very close to the business centre of Hout Bay and is within walking distance of the beach. Some of the décor in the two rooms I had (I stayed there twice during my stay in the Cape) needed a bit of attention and I had some difficulty locking and unlocking the doors. My fine motor skills are not what they used to be. I raised these with Alex, and he assured me that he was going to attend to these matters. Note that the rooms are not air conditioned. Note also there are quite a few stairs to be climbed to access the rooms, so these posed quite a challenge for me as I am mobility impaired.
All-in-all this was a great place for me to stay in.


Great value for money in Hout Bay

Thank you both for a very pleasant stay. I enjoyed your company and Lodge facilities. The closeness to the shops and other institutions was extremely useful. Thanks for the weather as well, it was splendid.
