Not the newest complex but has everything you need for a self catering holiday. It’s clean & well equipped.
Near a few supermarkets, short walk to Polis centre & variety of places to eat or drink. 
Beach within walking distance (avoid short cut through campsite as it’s mosquito central)
Stavros is charming, staff helpful- hasn’t changed since last visit in 2009!

Lovely apartment

This is our first visit back to Bougainvillea and the Polis region for a number of years and it didn't disappoint. Stavros and his staff were friendly, efficient and always happy to help. The accommodation is great value, spotlessly clean, comfortable, quiet and superbly located for Central Square and beyond. The one downside is that there is no wi-fi in the rooms (there is in the bar/reception area), but for us that was a very minor inconvenience.  In common with so many others, we shall be back hopefully next year!

Bougainvillea ticks nearly all the boxes for a relaxing holiday. 

Stayed at these apartments for the first time from 2nd October until 11th. I never normally write a review but felt I needed to here. From the minute we arrived around 1am, we were greeted by the lovely Stavros, with a glass of juice and homemade cake, we were made to feel welcomed straight away. 
We were in apartment 2, which was a large apartment on two levels, with a lovely sun trap of a terrace at the front, and two balconies one on the ground and one upstairs. The apartments were typical for Cyprus, basic, clean and had all you needed. It was perfect for us. 
What makes these apartments are the family who run it, Stavros, Stella, Maria and the girls are just simply the nicest people you could ever wish to meet. So friendly, funny, welcoming and nothing too much trouble. We were first timers here, but everyone else staying here were return visitors of varying yrs, some here for 28th!!! Yr, this tells you all you need to know. 
Within 24hrs, we were fully relaxed, and felt like part of the family. 
If you are looking for tradition, calm, tranquility, and a lovely family welcome then this is the place for you. 
We have already booked for next yr, and cannot wait to see Stavros, Stella and the girls again.❤️❤️❤️❤️



Can’t Wait To Go Back 

We stayed here in September and it’s taken me this long to decide what to include in my review. We have been visiting West Cyprus for the past 20 years and sometimes twice per year. We booked this through a tour operator 5 weeks before and were so pleased. We’d had a rough year and we were desperate for a break. We’ve walked past these apartments so often and always thought it looked lovely. Note to self, don’t judge a book by its cover. I have to agree with the reviewer below who stayed in 13. We stayed in 16 and it was grotty, very outdated. The bed was awful, goodness knows how old it was. The floors were filthy, I cleaned the kitchen and bathroom before we could use them. More worrying though is how outdated the smoke alarm and electrical items are. A piece of bread was clearly stuck in the bottom of the toaster and luckily didn’t catch fire but filled the apartment with smoke. We had a lovely welcome from Stavros when we first arrived but on the day of departure the staff weren’t interested, maybe because we only used the apartment as a base and didn’t spend any money in the bar. To be honest we didn’t want to stay in the apartment any longer than we needed. I’m confused about the high rating reviews, I don’t care how basic the accommodation is as long as it’s clean and comfortable. We are going back to Polis next year but to alternative accommodation. It’s so important in these times to have everywhere hygienic, and this complex sadly isn’t.

Very disappointed!

We're not long back from our fab holiday here. We were here for the first time,  this time last year, and booked this holiday during our stay, because we loved it so much!
Bougainvillea,  Stavros and all the warm and lovely staff, make you feel like you're a part of a special place. A place which has been many people's special place for many many years❤️❤️❤️  Meeting lots of people who were there last October was a testament to why many people keep coming back.
The hotel is small, which we like. 
The 3 star rating tells you what to expect and for us,  having been to many 3 star places in lots of areas of Greece, is accurate and fully met our needs. 
Last year we had a studio apartment but decided to have a 2 floor apartment- no 11- this time and we were more than happy. Lots of space, with 2 balconies and a wee terrace at the front,  where you can- if you want- have an early evening chat with the other guests,  and watch the beautiful sunsets. ❤️
Top balcony, from the bedroom, had views of the sea, in the near distance.  The huge sky, at dawn and dusk (with no orange- street light hue to be seen at night) is something city/ town dwellers, like us, crave and is a salve to the soul. Mixed with all the wildlife sounds and scents all around. Bliss.
(Comedy gold is listening to the staff at the brilliant Cristos Karouzis restaurant across the field, passionately shouting at eachother, from your balcony, or dining there!).
Yes, there's a hospital opposite,in view, but to me, that's a bonus, and didn't impede our enjoyment of the skyline.
Polis is a lovely place. 5- 10 minutes walk from Bougainvillea. So many good restaurants and bars. Sedate,  chilled and welcoming, just right for people who want to the same 🤗. 
Polis beach is 10 minutes walk away and not overcrowded, which we like. And has a restaurant/ bar and toilet/ shower facilities. The sea is warm, even in early October.
There's a lovely chilled buzz there.
After a  day at the beach,  stop off at Elena's at the top of the beach road,  far a brew, or an Ouzo. And you might get something extra instead of the usual nuts...fresh figs and guava from their trees, and lots of people, who you will enjoy their stories of Polis and their lives ❤️
If you want to feel relaxed from the moment you arrive at this lovely part of Cyprus, then you can't go wrong, if you choose Bougainvillea. But don't expect 4 star; instead expect somewhere you'll want to come back to again, because it is 5 stars.. because of the people and the love ❤️❤️❤️

On arrival at the apartments, at 1am, we were greeted by Stavros with a glass of juice and a piece of cake which was very welcoming. Our apartment, although dated, had everything required for our stay ie washing up liquid, shower gel, hair dryer etc and the kitchen was  well equipped. The bed was comfy with a ceiling fan overhead which adequately cooled the room without the need to pay extra for the air con. We had a view of the sea and mountains from our balcony which was lovely! Plenty of loungers around the pool area and the food/drink served was tasty, well  presented and reasonably priced.
Polis is beautiful, with lovely bars and restaurants to choose from. The picturesque beach is only a 10 min walk away and Latchi harbour, where you can take boat trips to the Blue lagoon, is approx 30mins walk. Fabulous!

Gorgeous Location!

Mixed feelings about this holiday. Polis is a fantastic location and did not disappoint one bit! Lovely and quiet, beautiful restaurants and great surrounding beaches and sightseeing.  Easy access to Paphos on the bus. 
The apartment we stayed in was very basic. We had a big problem with ants unfortunately.  As we had bed and breakfast, we also bought food for the room and despite our best efforts the ants enjoyed two bags of nuts and within minutes of preparing food, were all over the side. They also accessed vitamins we brought from home. Best option was to put everything in the fridge! Kitchen was well equipped.
The sofa beds were quite uncomfortable and you could only sleep on one section due to a large ridge in the middle. 
The air con cost 10 euros per day and could only be felt on the top floor in the bedroom. 
Stavros and his team were very warm and welcoming. 
Despite all flights leaving in the evening, there is a late check out charge to keep the room until 530pm. We paid an additional 20 euros. It was nice being able to shower late before going for a final meal but if this was included in the price it would feel more palatable. 
When we booked, we paid for a private transfer and whilst staying there discovered this is the only option as there are no coaches so just book a transfer and you should get a private car anyway! 
We would definitely go back to Polis but would consider alternative accommodation.  

Mixed feelings 

We recently stayed at Bougainvillea apartments as a cheap last minute getaway. Unfortunately on arrival we were given apartment 13 and things only got worse from there. 
This place is massively dated and in need of of a complete overhaul, maintenance and cleanliness would be a start. 
Our apartment was dirty and full of broken outdated equipment, the apartment was never cleaned in the full week we had the misfortune of staying here. 
Pool is filthy and full of dead flies and leaves and guests were skimming the pool with the net as again this was never done by the staff. Pool bar isn’t open and looks like a dumping ground for all there old things. 
Staff were pleasant and welcoming which was the only real positive for this place. Unfortunately we definitely won’t be returning and hopefully this review helps others make a better informed choice when booking, 

13 unlucky for some.. 

The apartment was adequate but the bathroom needs an update. Not very clean. Beds only changed once in 12 days. Saw no evidence of floors being moped. Maybe swept but not sure. Had to pay for air conditioning, safe and late check out. I haven't had to pay for extras in any other hotels I stayed in Cyprus which stretch over 30 years. Breakfast was to be £6 per day but received a menu on first day that was individually priced. On the whole staff was okay but not the most friendly.  The pool is far to small for the 29 rooms they have so spent only two days sitting. Wouldn't stay again. Sorry. 

Left a sour taste in my mouth due to a conflict between my sister and family and owner

Great, friendly place! Stavros and crew were amazing. A short walk to the square where all the restaurants are, didn’t have 1 bad meal! The breakfast at Bougainvillia was very nice too! Very clean and close to the beach too (12 minute walk). 

The pool was a little run down and could maybe do with a deep clean, but for the price I’d recommend it as you get what you pay for. We had a 14 and 16 year old and there was enough to do. 

We also got local busses to the water park which was a great day! The busses were just €5 per person for unlimited travel (did take us 3 busses and 2 hours but was worth it). 

We went to Lachi Harbour too which was very nice, plenty of boat trips to the Blue Lagoon. All in all, I wasn’t expecting much for such a cheap holiday, but left feeling good and would return.
