From the time you drive up to the valet to when you check out, you will be treated like you are the most important guest they have. We had one of the Croquet rooms. It was on the ground floor, impeccably clean, and we had a beautiful view of the hills and of course, the croquet court! We played a round of mini- We were even treated to a bagpiper practicing for a wedding or other event. There is wine, beer, cheese and crackers and a few other tasty treats in the room. The bathroom was HUGE! Massive soaking tub with bath salts. The floor was heated. We were in heaven! We were there during the week, so it was quiet. We got hungry and thought we would have a snack at the bar. We had tuna tartare that was amazingly fresh. I lived in Hawaii. I know fresh fish and then we shared the crab cake. The outside was perfectly crunchy and the remoulade (?) The service again was on point and our server was so cool. We were so full, so we had to go walk it off by walking down through the gardens. They have a chef’s garden and then a rose garden, other flowers, bees, and even a kids’ garden. We had a great night’s sleep, woke up, and then snacked on our leftovers from the last night’s dinner. Unfortunately, our trip came to an end way too soon. Check out was seamless and we were thrown back into reality. My sister and I can’t speak highly enough of Bernardus and their staff. We can’t wait to come back!
