They now have a restaurant in the pub called The Fat Landlord.
We thoroughly enjoyed it, great food and village atmosphere.
It is popular, so make sure you book. 
The fried onion rings are large, enough to share.
All five of us thoroughly enjoyed our meals.

The Bell, Helmdon, is now called The Fat Landlord.  Last week, after a period of total refurbishment, it opened its doors to diners.  We went last night for dinner.  This pub has been completely transformed and is now a warm, welcoming place with extremely good food and friendly service.  It has had rave reviews  - and is deservedly making its name in the world of gastropubs.  Well worth a visit.

The three bed and breakfast rooms are under new management as well and are a convenient and comfortable place to spend the night if you're visiting the area.

Do pay 'The Fat Landlord' a visit.  You won't be disappointed.

Love this pub amazing welcome warm and friendly always. Food always super fast and really tasty great value for money and clean. Best pub my favorite in the area can take my children in which is also a bonus.

Quintessential English Pub Experience

Drinks and Food

Booked & paid in full in March to stay at The Bell. Was told 1 room would be in The Bell & second room would be at Nordic Lodge at The Bell. Arrived on Sunday with confirmation letter & told that they didn't know about the booking & that they had nothing to do with Notdic Lodge. Was told that for £40  each we could have a bed but that pub was closed & that they didn't have any food because the chef had been sacked. Absolutely shambolic !!! Ended up having to abandon our weekend plans & return home!!

Avoid Rip off

Very poor customer service, was told we were aloud to check in at 2pm and after being on site with no staff there we were finally told (by text) they'd be an extra hour. Didn't actually get into the room for a further 2 hours after "check in time," after travelling nearly 3 hours this wasn't ideal. The room was dirty, mould in shower, dusty hair balls everywhere, cobwebs and bugs in room and bedsheets. Left with bites on my legs. Milk in the fridge went out of date on the day we were there, and the little bottle of orange juice had a date on it from the previous year, the fridge smelt of mouldy milk. Crumbs everywhere and all over the very small kitchen area. The bathroom flooded into the bedroom area when the shower was used (briefly may I add!) Nobody on site again to tell my complaints too, and now the owners are giving me very threatening behaviour because of my negative comments. So much so they do not believe my comments. 

I'm just so unhappy, my father had stayed on the premises when the previous owners had the pub and rooms and it was so lovely and clean so was extremely disappointed to view this. Having lived in the village for 20 years and returning for a family occasion I was very disgusted with how the bell has gone down hill. 

Will definitely not be returning, and do not recommend to anybody.
