Bastion Hotel Budapest

I arrived at the Bastion Hotel without an advance reservation, after arriving at first to a different place in Budapest - which I'd reserved in advance, several months earlier - that was highly dishonest, leaving me with no place to stay as the evening approached. A kind stranger, who spoke both English and Hungarian, suggested that I go to the Bastion Hotel - after I'd asked the person for help. Although the Bastion Hotel was more expensive than the other place, it was wonderful to find a clean, quiet, well-appointed place with an honest management. The Bastion Hotel fee included breakfast, but I maintain a very specific diet [meaning: Kosher], so I could eat only a very limited amount of the food that was put out at breakfast [the corn flakes, yogurt, fruit and fruit juice]. The Bastion Hotel kindly agreed each day to boil eggs for me [in a small pot that I'd brought with me, which I'd intended to use at the other place, in the apartment that I'd reserved in advance]. All of the Bastion Hotel front-desk staff speak excellent English, and they graciously helped me out with my questions. The Bastion Hotel is located in an excellent location: it's only a two minutes' walk from a subway-station and a tram line, and it's also very close to a major bridge over the Danube River. The Bastion Hotel is also located relatively close to the various downtown synagogues in Budapest, for those visitors who want to be walking-distance from the synagogues on "Shabbat".
