Service was great! Rooms in particular were amazing, extremely clean and well arranged. Staff were extremely cooperative and well behaved especially Sanjay who made us feel right at home. Food especially was the point of difference, I’d come back just for the food:) Outstanding! I’d definitely stay here again.

Had a wonderful two days stay at the farmhouse. We took one large room in the main building. This is very spacious and sufficient for a family. The best part of the farm is the huge open space and the balcony in front from where you can see the Teesta river and Kalimpong. Sandipan and his staff went out of their way to make our stay a memorable one. Will definitely go back

Me and my bestie have been planning for a long time for a break together among covid times where we could maintain social distance without affecting the vacation mode. And we stumbled upon this amazing place. We had booked possibly the most beautiful and secluded room with personal balcony. The rains and rich flora and fauna with Teesta flowing down didn't disappoint us. The view is breathtaking with the food being delicious and homely. Me and my friend are both dog lovers and we spent alot of our time playing with the three darlings which stayed at there. Our local sightseeing and tea garden hopping was taken care by Sandipan da himself in his car which was the best.
It's advisable to book rooms in well advance and carry some biscuits for the dogs who are absolute sweetheart. They'll guide you wherever you go. Good for bird watching. Visit here if you want a laid back, detoxing experience away from the crowd, completely lost in nature.

It's really a beautiful  farm house with best services. The behaviour of their people was great. The most awesome thing was the view, you can seen the whole kalimpong from there. Really missing the place and will definitely visit again.

Although located at a few minutes walk from the motorable road, Bara Mangwa farmhouse has a paved path for access. The farmhouse covers a few acres of land that has a natural wooded area, a few rooms for accommodation, a kitchen and dining area, their own cows, and vegetable and fruit gardens. There are lots of potted plants and flower beds. It feels very peaceful and serene to just sit back on one of the several  strategically-placed benches, or in the comfort of the balcony of your room and enjoy watching the rising sun, the trees, flowers and birds during the day, and the sky at night. The rooms are sparsely furnished, and bathrooms have geysers, W/C toilets and wash basins. They are comfortable for a person looking to staying close to nature, but don't provide the luxury of TV sets, air conditioning or electric kettles. The kitchen staff, headed by Sanjay ji, was extremely polite, caring and came up with delicious and nutritious meals, prepared from the organically-grown farm produce. The desi ghee too was home-made. Mr. Sandipan Dutta, the Coordinator of the farmhouse is a very polite, considerate and helpful person. He is a mountaineer, and had several interesting stories to tell. He took me out on a drive to see Peshok tea garden and Triveni sangam. The farmhouse runs a local school, 'Chintan Academy' for the village children, and most of the proceeds from the guesthouse are used to fund the school. This is a good cause, and I feel that tourists should opt for stay at Bara Mangwa farmhouse in support of this school.

People who are looking for a peaceful place to spend their holidays at the lap of nature far from the cacophony, this Farmhouse is the perfect place for them. We spent 3days at this place and the trip was just wonderful! Hygiene and cleanliness were well maintained, behavior of the staffs was really polite, quality of food was amazing as per the rate & the most important thing.. the view from balcony and the premises is just like a beautiful painting of mountains. Even we found such rare breeds of mountain birds, flowers & plants there which made our experience more exciting! At last but not the least, such other beautiful tourist-spots also can be visited from there by car in a very reasonable rate likewise, Tista-Rangit confluence (Triveni), Lover's View Point, Peshok Tea Garden, Lamahatta Park & Garden,Tukdah Forest, Tinchuley Tea Garden, Tinchuley Monastery etc.

We were there from 16th January to 19th January. Very peaceful  place amidst the nature.  The host Sandipan,  an ex mountaineer is a very nice and cordial person.We spent one full day in the farmhouse just to enjoy the surrounding beauty. Next day Sandipan took us to Darjeeling. The road trip from Badamangwa to Darjeeling was remarkable.  There is a trek route from Badamangwa to Lamahatta. The trek lover must try that.

The food is 600 per day per meal which includes tea, biscuits and popcorn and this is quiet reasonable  compare to the food quality. However if u take only breakfast it is a bit expensive.But, again compare to the hospitality of the people, it is worth spending. 

So overall I am satisfied with the visit.

Bara Mangwa Farm House is one of the best location to be with your friends and family. Staffs were friendly , foods were delicious and most importantly the place is wonderful. They provide bonfire along with snacks and bbq. They also provide the facility of transportation. 
The farm house is little bit inside from the main road .It's a 10 to 15 mins walking distance from the main road.

Bara Mangwa Farmhouse undoubtedly seems to be one of the most peaceful places, we've visited till date. It was that place, where we could just sit forever, without ever getting tired of staring into the mountains and the sky. It was also that place, where you might find some of the friendliest people, which includes Sandipan Dutta and the whole team.

The Best Stay in Darjeeling

Most peaceful and super chill out escape

We enjoyed the stay at the Farmhouse but the swimming pool experience was very unsatisfying. The quality of the water was bad. The person who operates the swimming pool had a very bad attitude and not at all happy with the way she communicates which was a put off. We were four adults with 2 infants. Since the entry fee was ₹250 for each who wanted to swim and ₹50 for those who just entered the premises of the swimming pool. So we paid ₹250 for 3 of us and ₹50 for 1. Since it was a sunny day all went to the swimming pool except 1. she sat along the edge and put her legs in the water since the kids were in the swimming pool, the incharge came and asked us to pay ₹250 for just dipping her legs in the water. It was very unpleasant & unprofessional approach.
Whereas The farmhouse experience was extremely satisfying. The staffs were very helpful & was prompt to catering to our requests  but would better if the customer service can be improved. We would love to recommend to our friends & family to go and stay in the farmhouse but would not recommend the swimming pool.

One day Stay to Bara Mangwa Farmhouse

Relaxed, comfortable stay in the lap of nature

We, total 4 members had stayed in the 2 premium Double bed rooms in the annex building from 31st March'21 to 2nd April'21. This is a place for natural tranquilizer with extreme scenic beauti of Hill & River which can replenish your life with joy. View of green waters of Teesta river is also an added attraction.

Pros:-
Hygiene & sanitation maintained by their staffs are upto the mark. The staffs of this Farmhouse offered a very tasteful, fresh and delicious food with great hospitality throughout our stay. Thanks to food management in charge & their team. 
There are 2/3 dogs, who will be your escorts during your travel on foot for the entire duration.

Cons:-
Practically, We had seen a little bit negligence regarding maintenance from the owner's side. Geysers which are installed in each room of annex building are not in working conditions during our stay. The staffs had supplied hot water in bucket whenever required but we have to inform them  each time well in advance. However, on request, in last day geyser service in one of the room has been restored. 
The mirror in one washroom of annex building where we stayed is broken & deformed (see attached picture) which should be replaced immediately. 
We have to pay ₹ 100/- during departure for arranging a man for carrying our luggage as the farmhouse is a 15 minutes walk distance from the motorable road which can be made complementary from farmhouse end. 
Food is supplied as whole day package system wherein morning tea, breakfast, lunch, evening tea & dinner are served. In evening, some light snacks are to be included in food package(within package cost) instead of only popcorn, as any extra item is chargeable.
Otherwise, this is an excellent place to stay & highly recommended.
