Balchik Tuzlata Recover 

The place where the locals go for a mud spa. Costs just 6 lev to enter and you can stay along as you like. A bit spartan but looks recently updated with new changing cubicles and showers. It is split into male and female 'sides', and most people get naked (although not compulsory) so be prepared! You bathe in a natural warm salt lagoon and then plaster yourself with slightly smelly mud from an old bath on the bank and allow it to dry. Someone will help you cover your back with mud without asking.. After the mud is has dried in the warm sunshine you get back in the lagoon to rinse the mud off. Both males and females can meet up in the lagoon as it is not divided after about 20 metres into the water and therefore again be prepared for what you might see. It feels vey sensual, relaxing and liberating to be outdoors, naked and covered in mud. The locals use it regularly and therefore it feels much more authentic and harks back to the communist era rather than the expensive, plush and artificial surroundings of an expensive hotel spa.
