Auberge Au Naturel des Ardennes

We drove from the Netherlands and stayed at Rochefort.
For three days we visited many surrounding gems of places not frequented by crowd of visitors.
Dinant by the river Nurse and it's hill top castle, decorated bridges and nice boulevard stood out.
Rochehaut and Fralan are fantastic locations where time stands still and nature is really wonderful.

We just spent a night at this small scale hotel with friends.
The place is somewhat outdated, but this certainly is compensated by tonnes of charm.The fireplace is great for late night conversations.

Beds are good, bathroom nicely refurbished. Acoustics are bad, so bring earplugs.
Breakfast is truly grate.
Over all: excellent value for money.

This feels far better than a two star.  The rooms are clean and well equipped, shower good.  This hotel is a little out of town so you may want to eat on the way.  We had been motorbiking all day and a the last ting we wanted to do was to get back on and go for a meal.  Thankfully and amazingly we were offered a lift into the town after we had cleaned up and it was not that much of a walk back after our meal, we then had drinks in the hotel bar. Breakfast was continental style and coffee was plentiful!  I would certainly return to this friendly hotel again.

We really enjoyed our stay. Hotel is well hidden from the road and there are some nice walks to do around it. We only spent one night. Owner was very friendly and made us feel at home. The restaurant serves local homemade specialities and it s excellent. So don t miss it! 
ok, beds are small and toilets make a strange sound when fluching. But it s part of the experience; )

Charming place, perfect to discover Les Ardennes

Drove down to the Ardennes on a holiday weekend looking forward to a stay in this hotel. However upon arrival the owner told us she had no record of our reservation. Despite presenting her with the confirmation email she seemed fairly unconcerned and told us she may have had problems with her fax !!!?! 
As it was a bank holiday weekend there were no vacancies left. Whilst I understand that errors can happen I was a bit taken aback by her lack of concern to our plight (a day of travel with no accom at the far end) but to exacerbate matters she proceeded to tell some other guests that we had arrived without a reservation and imply we were a bit daft to think we could turn up on a weekend and get a room (despite the fact we presented the booking confirmation to her minutes before). Not sure why she presumed we wouldn't understand her when she was complaining to the other guests as I had been communicating in French the whole time.
This is 2016, internet booking has been about for a while, the owners need to get their acts together.
