Artist House Amsterdam

I found this place on Tripadvisor. Believe the reviews. It is wonderful. I made reservations later and cannot believe I was lucky enough to find it. Arvin was super communicative and there when we were ready to check in. He gave us an overview of the apartment. It is so roomy with a little kitchen area with table, a couch and TV and a separate bedroom. I was a little worried about it not having AC, but it wasn't an issue even on the day it reached 88 degrees. We left the curtains closed during the day and at night it cooled down really nicely. Arvin also provided a fan in the bedroom that made sleeping comfortable if not even a little cool. The apartment is 50 feet from the metro station and another 50 from a bunch of great eating/drinking establishments. The location really can't be beat. You are right on the street, but noise is not a problem because the bedroom is located in the back of the apartment. Once you shut the door, you really can't hear anything. One thing you may want to be aware of...we were on the second floor. On the first floor was a couple with a baby that was a very light sleeper. They complained that we were walking too heavily. We are small people and tried to be considerate so I felt like we spent a lot of time tiptoeing around. I think they still complained. Just something to keep in mind. If you are a super light sleeper, maybe select the top floor if available. Keep in mind this is an apartment. There is no elevator, just narrow stairs up. I really think it is one of the best places to stay in Amsterdam. I can see how it has a 5 star review. Thanks Arvin for the perfect apartment to stay in!!
