I would rate this hotel at 2 1/2 star. I am personally a flexible person - so I made it work.

6 of us had headed to Addis for a stag-do. Their massive aparthotel-type rooms did the job for us. 3 massive rooms with 6 beds and a large living room sufficed for all our shenanigans. However I give 3 stars instead of 5 because there were many power outages and the hotel didn't have any back-up power. Come on Archi, invest in an electricity generator.

Nice hotel

The hotel wasn't to my expectation at all,The kitchen was terribly small,not sure was meant to be a kitchen at all.And there was no sitting room for a studio,and it was really far from the city centre not as descriped,Couldn't have my family as i would have hoped,And the reception never picks up the phone if any before they hang up.So,there goes reunion with my family. The manager was awful and sounded sarcastic evry time I talk with him about the service. Wasn't for me . Sorry

ADDIS ABABA TRIP 2015

Our group of volunteers stayed at this hotel 11 nights.  The service was excellent.  Rooms were cleaned every day.  Food in the restaurant was great.  Breakfast buffet (which was included in the price) had a bigger variety of dishes than we expected (we expected Continental breakfast).  Good food variety for vegetarians.  Restaurant service was a little slow, but all 18 of us ate at the same time.  So each morning I gave them a list of what everyone wanted to eat in the evening, and the food was ready when we got there at 6:00, speeding up the service.   All the staff we met were very friendly and accommodating.  Free pick-up and return to the airport.  The suites which can accommodate 6 people worked very well for our group.  The living room area of the suites was big enough that our group of 18 could have our meetings in it.  This hotel was much quieter than others I've stayed at in Addis.  It sits back from the main road on a side street, so you don't have road traffic noise.  There are no churches nearby that wake you up at 4:00 a.m.  The way the suites are arranged, you don't get noise from other suites.  I highly recommend this hotel for small or large groups of people.  They have 2 suites that accommodate only 2 people.

Great experience for our group

This hotel is absolutely awesome ! The perfect accommodation for anyone traveling to Addis. The personal attention of the staff supercedes anywhere I've traveled throughout the world !  They have become like family to me !  They are so very attentive and treat you like royalty there. If you need "anything at all" they are there to assist. They provide a warm and friendly atmosphere whether you're stay is for business or pleaure. Great food, comfortable rooms and just minutes from the airport. I've been their guest three times already on my travels to Addis and as far as I'm concerned, there is "no" other place I'd rather stay !  The "ARCHI"  is "my home away from home" !

THERE'S NO PLACE LIKE THE "ARCHI" IN ADDIS !

It was with fear and trepidataion that my husband and I arrived at the Archi Hotel in Addis Ababa as part of a bigger group who were in Addis on a medical mission. What greeted us was a good clean basic hotel with extremely helpful and efficient staff. In particular the dining room staff were always smiling, worked as fast as possible with large group numbers arriving late in the evenings, tired and hungry! I must mention the food which was always fresh and nicely cooked. The fresh omlettes at breakfast were a real bonus.
The hotel also provided the food for lunch at the hospital we were all working at and it was equally fresh and well cooked.
The rooms were clean and the housekeeping did a good job each day keeping them comfortable. The internet coverage was patchy but most of the time you could do the basic checking of emails etc.
I would not hesitate to recommend this hotel to other travellers. It is not the Hilton but it is convenient for the airport, it is clean and the rooms are spacious, and although there are no frills it is not the disaster that the previous reviewers stated.
Well done the Archi and thank you for making our stay as comfortable as was possible.

Good value for basic clean accommodation with very helpful staff

Looking for troubles, this is the right place: no heaters, the beds are hard as plywood, no hot water for shower! Found empty beer bottles in the room and the kitchen pots showed still the burned dinner form the previous guest. The washing machine but not connected to the water, no light in the bathroom, a nice steam bath but also not working, the beds are hard as plywood. Staff is unfriendly and not supportive to any of our request..

Looking for troubles?

Self accomodation flat with nothing in workable condition.  It took them a week to change the lightbulb in the lounge. When ordering from the menu they often do not have certain meals available.  Laundry services advertised but the washing machine is not working, after two weeks it still has not been fixed. Quite a few times we were left without any bath towels.  They are very quick to give us an account, if only they were so quick with their non existing service!  Far from the centre of Addis Ababa.
