Ansu Guest House

At first, we were looking for something closer to Kuressaare, the capital of Saarema. After phoning up a few places and hearing, how unfriendly they were on the phone, we decided to give it a chance and call that place up. The lady was really friendly and even promised to help out with options, that were not on the list, ie Internet access :). It is true, that it is located somewhere in the woods, where civilazation seems to end: a dirt road without no signs. We were coming there at night, fortunately, the map on their website (http://www.hot.ee/a/aansu/Asukoht.htm) had directions, but you have to follow them strictly. Once arrived at place, we found a very beautiful and peaceful place with a clear view on the sky. An authentic estonian farmstead passed on from generation to generation was really cool. I myself am an estonian whose objective was to show the place to his american friends and get to know the culture. Visiting this place we have hit a bullseye. The house is a clean and tidy place, dont expect any barocco design or whatsoever. It is just clean and tidy. I have to admit, I have never slept so good, in such peace. The morning rooster cried out and after a few hours we got up, still listening to different birds singing. We ate breakfast (we were all stuffed, and there was still food on the table!) and left the place, saying goodbye to the very calm owners, their cat, their dog and their horse.
