Anse Figuier Gites de France

This was our first time staying at a gite which is like a French BNB.  This gite was extremely spacious and had everything a family would need if they were to stay just a few days or even a week. There was a master bedroom with AC, an upstairs with 1 larger bed and 2 smaller beds, a kitchen with pots, pans, dishes, large fridge, microwave, stove, oven and washing machine. There's a large patio overlooking the Plage de Figuier beach with a hammock. Drying rack is outside for laundry. Daniel is the owner and he's a very nice fellow. He picked us up from the pier and even held our stuff and brought it to us on our day of departure because our ferry didn't depart until 5PM that day which was helpful. Our booking was easy as was communicating with Daniel on payment and on scheduling our pickup upon arrival at the ferry terminal. There were only a few "negatives" if you want to call them that - the gite is definitely a hike to the center of the village - about a 20 minute walk with a couple hills mixed in so make sure you rent a scooter or golf cart. We didn't have one but should have gotten one in retrospect. Also, you have to bring your own soap to take a bath. This isn't a traditional hotel so soap and shampoo is your own though Daniel does supplying towels for drying. Also, you'll likely spend some time at a beach while on Terre-de-Haut. Beach towels are also on your own so we wound up buying one in town. Lastly, my girlfriend found the bed to be a bit uncomfortable but that's been the case with each place we've stayed at in Guadeloupe while I thought it was the best bed we had during our weeklong trip.  We would stay with Daniel at his gite again.   

First time in a gite, would try again

Great gite in quiet location away from scooters etc. overlooks almost deserted beach but still walkable to town. Daniel collected us at ferry, allowed us time for shopping and also delivered us back to ferry. Thanks to Daniel and Martine for their hospitality.

Beautiful gite with lovely hosts

This is a fabulous place to stay and excellent value. The apartment is well equipped with very good kitchen, toilet, and bedroom downstairs. Upstairs is an open loft with space for sleeping. The balcony is huge, with a tremendous view down to the beach, the cliffs opposite, and the sea. We both came with work projects, and it was a great place to pit in, cook, get work done, stare at the sea. The area the property is located is also happily removed from the bustle of the main town, the cruise ship arrivals and scooters. We preferred to nip into town only to do shopping at the good supermarkets, and then retreat to our fabulous balcony and view to the sea. Thank you to the hosts for their kind pick-up from the ferry, and then taking care of our bags and dropping them off at the port on our final day. If you are staying in Les Saintes, this is a fantastic choice.

Excellent choice, happily removed from main town

We were lucky to have had 4 nights to stay at this location. The view is out of this world. The place was clean, very modern, and over all the most amazing place in Les Saintes. It really is a big place and can sleep quite a few, comfortably. Book your Les Saintes vacation around the availability of Anse Figuier!

Book early and stay as long as you can! this place has it all huge kitchen fully furnished, Ocean view, big balcony,etc. 2 minute walk to the almost private beach. hands down best place on Terre de haut.
