Short walk from town, or no 4 bus from station stops end of road.Met by friendly house keeper given keys ran through everything never saw her or anyone again but no problems, tea making, TV, hair dryer heater in room and WiFi code. Thin walls next door arguing and noisy, bed comfy, small bathroom. If 'and I hope to'  return to jersey I would use again and recommend.

We didn’t arrive till late as our flights were delayed, the owner texted and I then advised when we would be there, we didn’t have to wait, smooth check in and the room was as expected for a guest house.  The owner was extremely helpful when on our last night we become ill and as we had had hardly any sleep, she let us stay in the room longer than the time required for check out, we really appreciated this as we were able to get some extra sleep, and be in a fitter position to travel home, so understanding thank you.  It is not far from the main town, so ideal if you don’t mind the short walk.  If we retuned to st Helier in the future. We would consider booking Alister again.  Thank you for a pleasant stay.

The staff is super nice and helpful, especially with check in hours. The guest house is very well located, near the city center (about 15 min on foot).The room was nice and comfy and we will definitely go back there for a future trip. Overall, we're super happy with our stay in Saint Helier.

Very good for the price. Easy walk to the center of town and the beaches. Nice hosts and very accommodating. Quiet street. Very safe. My only recommendation is that they use less furniture in the rooms as it felt crowded

Just had the most fabulous time in Jersey. Stayed at this guest house and Jackie (the owner) was amazing.  The best breakfast ever and as much as you like.  Helpful in every way.  Got a problem ask Jackie she can sort it !! Couldn’t recommend them highly enough.

Lovely comfortable room with everything we needed.  The breakfast was lovely; set us up for the day! We couldn't possibly eat everything offered!!

I spent several days visiting my cousin and his wife in st helier and stayed for 3 nights at the Alister, it is a lovely, clean and friendly place, i had the Double room with ensuite which was very nice, Jackie and James were so friendly and the breakfast was fantastic, definitely be going back, also very reasonable price and only about 11/12 minute walk to the main centre of town and the shops and restaurants

Close to centre

We came over to Jersey as foot passengers on the ferry. The guest house was in easy walking distance of the port (town) and easy to find. We were met by the friendly house keeper, who issued our room keys. The rooms were clean and comfy. We were on the top floor and whilst it was a little hot, we were provided with a fan.
Whilst there is no breakfast included , there is a Co-op supermarket less than 2 min walk away where you can buy pain au chocolat and croissants etc.

Good value and good location for our weekend stay.

A basic Guest House but pleasantly clean. Rooms were well equipped and the Caretaker, Hakim, lived adjacent to the main building and was easy to contact. He was very helpful and very welcoming. There are quite a few shops close by which is important because there are no cooking facilities available at the Guest House. It is also ideally situated for the main Shopping Area of St Helier.

A Basic but Clean appartment

The Guest house was clean and comfortable,the staff very helpful.Very quiet and private.Fully equipped with TV .

We had a pleasant stay .

Two good restaurants food available there.

Close to shops and the harbour where the shopping centre is and the bus station.

Well connected by bus routes and taxis are available  .

Very good value for money 

Only marred by having no breakfast

Visiting family in Jersey

We were given the twin room on 1st floor which was perfect for us. Lovely & clean, comfortable beds & plenty of room. Jackie apologised for the room being a little dated but this certainly was not a problem for us as it more than served its purpose as a base for our stay. 
We were given a vast choice at breakfast & chose the full English. It was huge, cooked to perfection, beautifully presented & very tasty. 
The location is fantastic, we enjoyed the short walk to and from St Helier, finding different routes each time! Jackie recommended the coach tour of the island. We are so glad we went as the coach driver was very knowledgeable and entertaining. 
The 3 days were just a taster break - we definitely need to go back as we really loved the place and want to explore in more detail. We certainly will be hoping to stay here on our next visit! 

Great location, lovely landlady & team.

I had a lovely experience.
The hostess was very welcoming, helpful, polite and friendly, the room was clean and comfy, the ensuite bathroom was clean and the shower worked well with plenty of hot water.
It was quite cold outside but the room was a nice warm temperature. The bed and pillows were comfy and the cooked breakfast was nice.
The location is about 18 minutes walk from the bus station and 40 seconds walk from the bus stop of bus 4, the one connecting the hotel to Royal Jersey Showground where I was attending an event. Just one note, plenty of bus stops in Jersey don't have a pole or board or shelter with names of the stops or bus numbers, there is only a writing on the street (literally on the floor) that says "bus" with the number of the bus stop or their times. The stop outside the guesthouse is one of them. I couldn't find it and one passerby pointed the writing on the floor to me saying that was the bus stop. 
For all your grocery needs there is a small Co-op supermarket 1 minute walk from the guesthouse, a Morrisons 3 minutes walk and a Waitrose 8 minutes walk. The small Co-op is open every day, the Waitrose from Monday to Saturday and the Morrison I am not sure as I didn't use it.
The free wi-fi worked well.
Just one very minor thing: the toilet in my room was facing a wall and there isn't much space in front of you when you sit there… it was just enough for me, but a taller person would probably be sitting there a bit less comfortably. But as I said this is something very minor, I had a really good experience and I would happily come back to Alister Guest House.

Booked this Hotel & stayed recently OCT 2018,Well what can i say This is an absolute gem of a place.
The landlady ( Jackie) was amazing & very polite person nothing was too much trouble for her, My room very clean,comfy bed &  was serviced every day.
Breakfast was lovely & plentiful
Stayed for three days but wanted to stay longer  so ive booked again 

Well done Jackie & your staff you were brilliant

An " EXCELLENT" recent stay

This nice B&B has an excepcional hostess, Jackie! We had only hot water in the shower and within a few hours it was solved. She also cooks a great breakfast, with hash brownies. The room was clean and big enough, only small bathroom, but no problem. It's well located for people that don't want to be in the big rush of the city, but still close enough to walk to the city center.
