- Room had to be changed 3 times.- Bed linens were stained.- Front desk clerk seemed annoyed when asked to change rooms - said there were no housekeeping on duty.- Bathroom towels were all mismatched in color as well as heavily stained.- Vanity drawers contained a spider and cobwebs.- Room did not even have a complimentary coffeemaker or anything to make a cup of tea in the morning.- Fridge in the room was filthy.- Curtains in room was not opaque and allowed light through.- Bed moved throughout the night whilst asleep (wheels could not lock).- Bathtub was too high for my and edges were sharp.- No vending machines available on premises.- Available on premises was undercooked.- Tables in dining room/area were all dusty and filthy.- Wifi did not work throughout my stay.- TV remote did not contain batteries. I had to ask front desk clerk for batteries and she was already annoyed.- Lastly, the overall appearance of this establishment looked liked a seedy motel where you would go to have a one-night stand!

My experience was bad it was my anniversary and me and my husband decided to get away for the day.The pool was dirty the Jacuzzi and aquatic massage was not available the mattress was horrible sinking in the middle the only good thing I have to say the water to take a shower was hot I will never visit this place again

Very bad hotel

I only booked Alicia's Palace because the place I normally stay at for Carnival was booked up early. 

My main issue with Alicia's is that they overcharged me. When I checked in at reception, I made sure not to sign all the receipts I was provided until I spoke with a manager. Alas, I was unable to speak with management during my 5-day stay. Email communication was and is infrequent to non-existent. They have not responded to my recent Facebook message.  And once I found out they had Whatsapp, I tried contacting them that way but as with emails, they either did not respond or took a long time to respond. 

I tried to dispute the charge with my credit card company but that was unhelpful. 

There was no hot water, and the breakfast is not unlimited.

Beware! They will take your money and run!

My friends and I stayed here for Carnival 2020. WORSE PLACE I'VE EVER STAYED IN MY LIFE!!!! The ghettoooo.  This guest house needs to be called Alicia's hostel, not palace. lol The staff is not hospitable and act like we owe them something. Also, the location is at the top of a hill and most drivers don't want to drive up there.  

-  Insufficient towels for the number of people in the room the entire stay. ( had to request these multiple times through the stay) and toilet paper. No rags for people in the room even upon request.

-Dirty sheets, was not changed for the first 3 days 

- Mosquitos everywhere 

- No Hot water on multiple occasions 

- Leaky tub/bathtub clogged 

- Lost power for 2 days - food spoiled

- Woke up to our room Flooded! Ruined items (cards, shoes, iPad) 

- No wifi for the entire stay in the room ( had to sit near the front desk for WiFi)

- Toilet broke and did not flush 

And to top it off, management has been dodging us for our refund. I will be disputing this with my bank and putting them on blast.

DO NOT STAY HERE!!!!

I have travelled to many destinations and stayed in some pretty poor hotels but this one is by far the worsed I have experienced. 
Rather than being a Palace the hotel rooms resemble a very tired bed and breakfast where you would expect to pay a fraction of the price. 
We booked a room with a balcony but there wasn't one but that was the least of the concerns.
The room is located at the top of 3 flights of steps with no lift or any offer made to assist with heavy cases.
The room lacked many usable electric sockets and we were finding that we were having to charge phones in the bathroom which is far from ideal.
The hotel does offer a free shuttle service down from the hotel as the hotel is located up a long winding hill that would take at least 30 minutes to walk up. This service is useful but frequently you are told the car is on its way when 45 minutes later you can still be sitting waiting for it at the bottom of the hill as a sitting target in what is regarded a country with violent crime issues.
During my stay I haven't seen any one dare venture into the "swimming pool" ... personally there is no way I could venture into the pool which appears to be extremely dirty and poorly looked after.
Today the electric cut out so there was no power for several hours ... may be not a massive deal but the hotel requires pumps so that the water system operates so not only was there no electric but no water to shower or to use the toilet. 
There is apparently a generator but it is inadequate to provide electricity to all of the hotel so many couldn't have a shower or even go to the toilet. 
These are basic services a hotel should provide especially a back up generator knowing a pump is required to maintain basic sanitary standards.
I am still only part way through the holiday and I just wonder what next could happen.
The price paid wasn't worth what has been provided and i would urge you to very carefully consider all other options before choosing to stay at this hotel

HOTEL FROM HELL

It started off rocky with the room not being ready when we arrived and we had booked this hotel 4 months in advance. Breakfast never ready on time ( we could live with that), Jacuzzi not hooked up (even though that's partly why we booked this place) Bathrooms were probably cleaned twice during our week stay and one night we were locked outside the gates for 30 mins because no staff was present. All that we could get over but one night a leak started coming through the ceiling right on top of my friends bed... By morning it was a full stream. The hotels only option for us was to downgrade to a smaller room with no money back. Very disappointing :(

Stay somewhere else

This was such a disappointing way to spend our wedding anniversary. The rooms on the ads are NOTHING like the choked up dungeon we were given. My husband paid for a room with a balcony when in actuality we were "close" to a SHARED balcony!!!!The room door locks were shakey, the room was extremely small, with a 4x6 bed to fit 2 adults (I'm also very pregnant so it was more like fitting 3 people). There was no accessible window to get sunlight but there was a real annoying window above the bed that opened to the hall and  had a light next to it.... how fun that made trying to sleep... The guests were REALLY noisy and after 2 calls to the front desk at 12 am and 1 am, the noise got worse!!! The food was terrible like you were begging for these services and not paying for them. These are just a few of the issues. I can tolerate some mishaps but after looking forward to this "get away" and receiving such terrible service I really hope you all improve your establishment. Even the staff is unfriendly (except for the maintenance guy). It's so sad that my husband spent money to surprise me and then regret the whole thing and come back home sick and tired. I felt like Harry Potter.... living under someone's stairs.... and this is not an exaggeration. Extremely poor and upsetting!

Worst place ever!!!

The place is very clean helpful staff, pool was nice and beautiful scenary. We enjoyed the breakfast was very tasty. The room was cozy and comfortable. Very quiet and peaceful. Will definitely be back was an amazing getaway!! 

Anniversary getaway

Many thanks! We got the honeymoon suite and it was spacious with a jaccuci on the balcony which we didn't use. The view is incomparable, a bit far to the city but the shuttle goes up and down the hill. Good breakfast and friendly staff in the kitchen, reception staff a bit unprofessional
