Great hotel for the money, stayed here pre and post trip and it perfectly matched my needs. Close to center of town, amenities and restaurants with all been within a 10-15 minute walk. Rooms were clean and tidy and a large breakfast (eggs, tomatoes, sausage and beverages) was included in the price. Rooms are not air conditioned but I did not find it an issue with the window open for a breeze (and I'm a person who tends to feel the heat). Room walls are a bit on the thin size and sound may travel but I've experienced worse in high end accommodation. Although comparatively cheap for a western traveler the hotel was frequented by a number of Kazakh families and business people during my stay (2 & 3 Nights). I would recommend this for anyone looking for clean, convenient hotel close to town who may have an eye on their budget.

Clean and tidy, close to all amenities

This hotel was part of where we are staying prior to going on a long riding trip with an outfitter. I booked extra days just in case there were issues (as in luggage, and there were but all was sorted out). I was told that my tariff was too low, then I saw the room. My view is of smashed concrete, rusty factories and trash. The room is so small that when I put my luggage on the floor there is no room to put my feet down as well. It takes ten minutes for the hot water to come on, and then after two days there is no hot water at all. The hotel has no a/c so it's hot. Breakfast is free, which is great, as long as you don't want fruit or yogurt, which is what I eat. Their pub, which now offers salads (and this is actually pretty funny) showed a big bowl of salad for a certain price. I ordered it, thinking I would get the big bowl as shown. What came out was a teacup saucer with four tablespoons of cucumber and tomato on it, with plenty of acreage around the outside edges of the saucer. I'm not making this up. You can open your window to let in the cool air at night as long as you don't mind the flies. I'm not without a sense of humor, I'm just stumped as to why they are raising their prices. Perhaps the owner needs a new car. Because he most certainly isn't putting money into his hotel. Just to make a further point, when I finally did get hot water, when I closed the shower door, the whole thing came off in my hand. Because the shower drain cause the water to rise to a level that threatened to flood the bathroom floor, I pulled the drain out. So, when I used the tiny soap that came with the hotel, and it inevitably came out of my hand, it swirled down the drain. I'm not making this up. And they want to raise prices. Right. Go figure.
